National housebuilder, Miller Homes, has unveiled the new show home, the Charlesworth, at its Burghfield Park development in Reading, Berkshire. The development comprises a stunning selection of 90 traditional homes, including two-, three-, four- and five-bedroom properties.

Offering a blend of countryside and city-living, the development is an ideal place to settle for first-time buyers, growing families or couples looking to downsize.

Katrina Crawford, head of sales at Miller Homes Southern, says: “Burghfield Common is a charming village, with a strong sense of community. It’s great to be able to create a new neighbourhood here and to give families a future in this desirable location.

“Show homes are the perfect way to demonstrate the quality and standard of a new build, as well as providing interior design inspiration for potential visiting house hunters. We try to take inspiration for our show homes from the surrounding location, and with Burghfield Common’s vast green spaces and traditional town centre, we were never short of options.”

Expert at design agency Artspace, Lydia Grahamdiscusses how the team were inspired by the development’s surroundings as she tours the show home:

“The show home at Burghfield Park is a striking property, and within it we have tried to reflect the beauty of the surrounding Berkshire countryside. Featuring rich teals, luscious green tones and bold floral patterns coupled with textured fabric and accents of gold and glass, this home really is traditional country chic with a sophisticated edge.”

Burghfield Park (Miller Homes)Kitchen: “The spacious kitchen was the perfect canvas for our designers at Artspace to experiment with bold statement interiors. Complete with state-of-the-art appliances, the space is centred around a ‘cocktail making’ theme, taking inspiration from an evening in a glamorous bar. The luxurious emerald chairs and copper furnishings remind us of a vibrant casino atmosphere!”

Burghfield Park (Miller Homes)Living Room: “Often the heart of the home, the show home’s living room is the perfect space for relaxing with family. With views of the garden to the rear, you can watch as the children enjoy some time in the outdoors. The living room’s main feature is the hand painted print on the wall, inviting a spectrum of colour into the room, and creating a natural flow from the outside with a garden mural. Adding a touch of countryside-glamour to the room is the contrasting plush green velvet, gold and glass furnishings, alongside rustic wooden accessories.”

Master Bedroom: “Upstairs, the large master bedroom provides a sanctuary to the outside world – filled with colours including yellow, forest green and rose gold. To echo the greenery of the surrounding area, the velvet headboard has been coated in a dark green shade, complemented by luxurious gold textured wallpaper making the room feel bright and airy.

Burghfield Park (Miller Homes)Second Bedroom: “Located on the same floor, and benefiting from the large window, this room offers an abundance of natural light. The room also showcases the popular trend of botanical-inspired wallpaper and decorative floral decals added to the furniture.”

Third Bedroom: “This spacious and inviting bedroom demonstrates just how creative you can get with your teenager’s bedrooms. Saving space, our design showcases innovative storage solutions with a sofa bed and living wall, incorporating a love for all things outdoors."
