As one of the UK’s largest cities, and the diverse lifestyles that it supports through its amenities and job opportunities, Leeds remains a popular place to live for people of different ages and cultures. The city centre and suburbs offer new homes to suit many budgets and requirements.
Leeds was given the status of a city in the late 19th century following more than a century of rapid growth as it changed from a market town to one of Britain’s major industrial centres across a range of sectors. These days, the mills and ironworks have been replaced by national and international companies in finance, retail, digital and retail, among many others. The likes of Asda, Channel 4, Yorkshire Building Society and William Hill are just a few of the names illustrating the variety of roles that make it a popular place to call home for the employment opportunities it offers.
With five universities and a host of highly regarded schools and colleges across a number of disciplines, the city’s wider metropolitan area of some 800,000 has a high proportion of younger people. The market for energy-efficient new build homes here caters for them with a host of different property types to suit first-time buyers, through contemporary city apartment blocks to more traditional-design homes in established residential districts.
The exceptional range of cultural, sport and entertainment venues in and around Leeds caters for everyone, and the city centre is renowned for its mix of premium brands and independent stores. There are festivals and other events across the annual calendar that draw huge audiences from across the city and beyond.
Its geographical location make Leeds very well served my major roads and one of the UK’s busiest railway stations. There’s an airport just eight miles from the city centre too.
For house-hunters considering buying a brand new home in Leeds, there are right now a host of options to consider. Any offers, initiatives and assistance schemes mentioned are all subject to terms and conditions.
