Glasgow has become of Britain’s largest cities, with great economic success, job opportunities and an accumulation of exceptional facilities for shopping, sports, culture and leisure.

Its variety of neighbourhoods offer a real mix of places to live and work, leading to its popularity with home-seekers of all ages and budgets.

the city has seen major regeneration over the years, most recently a major project to transform the former industrial areas along the River Clyde to a thoroughly up-to-date place to live, work and have fun. New commercial premises, shops, leisure facilities and arts venues attract visitors and residents, with transport links connecting to the rest of the city and beyond.

There’s a very active residential development market in Glasgow, offering a wide array of brand new properties in its diverse districts as well as surrounding towns and villages.

Best new homes for sale in Robroyston

This is a suburb located around three miles north-east of the city centre and it is historically known as the place that English troops captured William Wallace in 1305. Local amenities include an Asda superstore, a gym, playground, primary school and the 10-acre Robroyston Park. Adjacent to the M80 and, since 2019, having its own railway station (under 15 minutes to/from Queen Street), it’s a well-connected place too. Some 1,600 new homes are part of the Robroyston & Millerston Community Growth Area (CGA) masterplan.

Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes – both part of WhatHouse? Housebuilder of the Year 2019, Barratt Developments – are both busy in this part of the capital at Wallace Fields. Barratt is on Phase 3 and current has four-bedroom houses available from £354,995 to £399,995, many of which have significant offers worth thousands of pounds. The detached ‘Dunbar’ at £354,995 is ready to move into and currently comes with £17,740 mortgage or deposit contribution and packages for flooring, appliances and wardrobes. There are three- and four-bedroom houses from David Wilson Homes, starting at £319,995 for detached ‘Duart’, with integral garage and three double bedrooms. Avant Homes’ current selection of four- and five-bedroom homes come with an impressive standard specification and are priced from £339,995. Newly released are ‘The Melrose’, a terraced four-bedroom property set over three floors. Two of the four bedrooms come with en suite, with the top floor dedicated to bedroom one. ‘The Uphall’, from £519,995, is a detached house with integral double garage, en suite to the main bedroom and another shared by bedrooms two and three, and a spacious open-plan kitchen/dining/family room with two sets of French doors to the garden. Best new homes for sale in Cambuslang

Cambuslang is on the southern outskirts of the city and considered by some to be ‘the largest village in Scotland’, having a population of around 30,000, which is set to grow with the number of successful new homes developments. It offers some great local amenities, including numerous schools, and has good transport links being close to the Glasgow Road and with direct rail connections to Central station taking just nine minutes.

Castle Gardens is bringing two-, three-, four- and five-bedroom homes that will appeal to house-hunters from first-timers to families needing plenty of living space. There are some great limited-time offers for keen buyers to make the most of: for ‘The Newmore’, with three bedrooms and a starting price of £221,995, Persimmon is offering up to £10,000 towards mortgage payments; ‘The Leith’, from £328,995, has four bedrooms and a current offer of free flooring and a £5,000 holiday voucher. Newton is the latest part of Cambuslang to see major development of new housing, located in the east of the district and with its own amenities including schools and a railway station. Barratt Homes has some three- and four-bedroom homes at Newton Farm from £249,995 to £382,995, such as the three-bedroom/two-bathroom terraced ‘Cupar’; starting prices range from £205,000 to £367,000 for Taylor Wimpey’s current three- and four-bedroom homes, with some deposit contribution deals. Best new homes for sale in Bearsden

One of the city’s most sought-after residential districts, Bearsden is on Greater Glasgow’s border with East Dunbartonshire. Just six miles from the centre, it’s an area with its own excellent range of amenities, mainstream and independent shops, and well-rated places to eat and drink – and there are five golf courses too. It’s 20 minutes into the heart of the city by road or rail via Bearsden’s own station.

Robertson Homes is building 47 four-, five- and six-bedroom luxury detached homes at Thorn View. A show house is open there, giving property-seekers a chance to see first-hand the detail of specification, building quality and design, with some homes incorporating the housebuilder’s ‘signature’ garden rooms with cathedral style windows and vaulted ceilings.
