Cornwall’s reputation as one of the UK’s top coastal holiday destinations means there is strong demand for new homes in seaside and port towns there, as a permanent place to live or as a holiday home.

Housebuilders are busy building some impressive new homes across the county and we take a look at the very best of them. All special offers and incentives mentioned are for a limited time and subject to terms and conditions.

The best new homes for sale in Bude

Right in the north of Cornwall, close to the border with Devon, Bude’s town centre has a good range of shops and amenities, and its variety of beaches make it appealing for relaxing and active residents and visitors. For a drink or meal, traditional seaside takeaways are complemented by some highly rated pubs and restaurants. There are plenty of other leisure and activities options too, including several sports clubs. There’s a cinema just south of the town on the A39, a road which links Bude with the likes of Wadebridge and Bideford. For families, there are a number of schools in the area rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted.

Cavanna Homes is progressing well at Bellevue, its development of 144 new homes just east of town in Stratton. The two-, three- and four-bedroom houses come in a range of styles inspired by local traditional design, but with a high-standard specification. A marketing suite and show home are open from Thursday to Monday between 10.00am and 5.00pm. The best new homes for sale in Duporth

Duporth is on the southern outskirts of St Austell on Cornwall’s south coast. It used to be a holiday resort, popular for its sandy beach and panoramic views out to sea. The town centre is only a couple of miles away, so there’s a host of useful shops and services within easy reach as well as numerous schools, restaurants, a three-days-per-week market, and an historic brewery. Among the popular local destinations is the Eden Project. St Austell’s station offers direct services to the likes of London, Cardiff and Penzance.

The best new homes for sale in Hayle

Hayle has a rich history as a thriving port in the heyday of the coal, copper and tin industries in Cornwall, and is now set within the boundaries of Hayle Conservation Area and the World Heritage Site for Cornwall & West Devon. Thanks to three miles of sandy beaches, it has become a popular holiday destination and offers residents and visitors essentials locally and in St Ives, just a few miles away. The A30 provides easy access to towns such as Penzance, Redruth and Truro, and the town’s railway station offers direct services to Penzance, Plymouth and other cities.

North Quay (Corinthian)

The best new homes for sale in Padstow

This historic fishing port is now better known as a place to visit a number of well-known restaurants and bars, as is the village of Rock on the opposite side of the River Camel. Non-gourmets will also find great reasons to live in the town, with its attractive harbour and proximity to numerous beaches and scenic walks along the north Cornwall coastline. In addition to its own shops and amenities, there are a number of major towns within 30-45 minutes’ drive, such as Newquay, Truro and Bodmn.

Harlyn Bay is just a couple of mile west of Padstow and it’s where Harrington Homes has had success at its development of high-specification flats. The best new homes for sale in Falmouth

Its docks and harbour are landmarks of this south Cornwall town, with a busy dock, sandy beaches and proximity to a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty underlining its appeal to lovers of the outdoors. There are numerous music, arts and food festivals held here throughout the year too. The town has plenty of shops, amenities and leisure venues, a few ‘Good’ Ofsted-rated schools, a university campus and is around half-an-hour from Truro by road or rail.
