Keith OsborneBarratt Developments, the former WhatHouse? Housebuilder of the Year which sells under its Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes brands, has a number of offers and buying opportunities at developments in the North East of England.
Cherry Tree Park has homes for sale under both brands. It is situated in Ryhope, on the coast just south of Sunderland. It’s a great location both for the enjoyment of th coastline walking and cycling trails and also for access to the city centre, just four miles away. Young family buyers will be particularly interested as the nearby New Seaham Primary school is rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted.
With Barratt Homes, there is one final opportunity to purchase a two-bedroom home there, the end-of-terrace ‘Denford’. Both bedrooms are doubles and are complemented by an open-plan kitchen/dining/living room with French doors to the garden, a downstairs WC and upstairs family bathroom. Priced at £169,995 (recently reduced from £174,995), it qualifies for Help to Buy, where a first-time buyer would need a 5% deposit.
With David Wilson Homes, there’s a range of four-bedroom detached homes for sale and a limited-time offer of a £5,000 shopping voucher when reserving one of them. The housebuilder is also inviting house-hunters to ask about Part Exchange. In addition to the current homes for sale, priced from £364,995, a new collection of four- and five-bedroom houses is set for release soon.
'Brentford' at Burdon Green
Burdon Green is in the village of Coxhoe, around five miles south of Durham. As well as proximity to countryside and number of nature reserves, it’s also just a couple of minutes from the A1(M), making a commute to Newcastle or Darlington around half-an-hour.
Plot 105 and Plot 106 are both three-bedroom homes (priced £223,995 and £232,995 respectively) which for a limited time are available with a 5% deposit boost offer, which could bring a saving of over £11,000 to lucky buyers. For those moving up the property ladder, Part Exchange is available on selected homes.
Merrington Park is another Barratt Homes development, this one located in Spennymoor, a town just seven miles south of Durham. It’s been a popular development and there are now just five properties left for sale there, two- and three-bedroom houses priced between £124,995 and £179,995, all qualifying for the government-backed Help to Buy scheme.
Ready to move into right now is Plot 247, the three-bedroom ‘Maidstone’ which is priced at £159,995. This semi-detached home comes with double parking and a large garden, and the main bedroom has the luxury of an en suite shower room. Alternatively, rady to move into by Christmas is Plot 239, the three-bedroom ‘Moresby’ which comes with an en suite principal bedroom and parking for two cars. This was priced at £185,995 but recently reduced to £179,995. It features an upgraded kitchen with integrated appliances, worth up to £3,000.
‘Ellerton’ at Jubilee Gardens
Jubilee Gardens is a new development situated in the large market town of Stockton-on-Tees. Its location has proven very popular with young professionals and families, and now there are just two homes left for sale here.
One is Plot 58, the three-bedroom ‘Ellerton’ whoch has recently been reduced in price from £167,995 to £159,995, saving of £8,000, and it can be purchased by first-time buyers using Help to Buy. This semi-detached house comes with an open-plan kitchen with dining area, separate lounge, a south-facing rear garden, an ensuite to the main bedroom and a driveway for two cars.
Church Fields is in New Hartley, Northumberland, not far from Blyth and Whitley Bay and about 30 minutes’drive from Newcastle city centre. These two-, three- and four-bedroom homes are priced from £177,995 to £370,495 and are within the catchment area of New Hartley First school, rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted – great news for young family buyers. Three- and four-bedroom show homes were recently unveiled here.
Plot 270 is the four-bedroom ‘Windermere’ which, if reserved now, will be ready to move into by Christmas. Priced from £279,995, this detached home has an integral garage, a spacious lounge leading through to a kitchen/dining room with French doors and a utility room. On the first floor you will find four double bedrooms and the family bathroom. The main bedroom features an en suite shower room. This home comes with a selection of upgrades and packages.
