Highlights From Housebuilder’s Bedfordshire Developments
Barratt Developments – the former WhatHouse? Housebuilder of the Year, which operates under the Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes brands – is highlighting some of the most notable new homes for sale at its developments across Bedfordshire.
Willow Grove is in Wixams, a flourishing village on the outskirts of Bedford. Residents will benefit from the surroundings of a country park and great commuter links. Luton, Milton Keynes and other towns and cities can be reached via the A6, A421 and M1, while regular Thameslink rail services lead directly to London in just 38 minutes.
Barratt Homes currently has three-, four- and five-bedroom homes for sale with starter prices between £396,995 and £576,995. The ‘Milfield’ is the Home of the Week and priced at £462,495, an end-of-terrace house complete with an upgraded kitchen worth £4,000 and six spotlights. There’s a lounge at the front of the home and a kitchen/dining/family room with French doors to the south-west-facing garden. Also downstairs there’s a utility room and WC. All four bedrooms and doubles, with an en suite to the largest and a family bathroom for the others to share.
David Wilson Homes is also building here and if the ‘Kennett’, at £434,495, if reserved this week, comes with a flooring package worth £2,500 plus £8,000 to personalise your way with the housebuilder’s Expressions range of options. This three-storey house comes with kitchen/dining room, separate lounge and three double bedrooms, with the top floor dedicated to the master bedroom with en suite.
Barratt Homes at Linmere is in Houghton Regis and its current three- and four-bedroom houses have starting prices between £422,950 to £445,000. These homes are surrounded by 90 acres of open parkland space and a short drive from the town centre. A ‘Good ‘ Ofsted rated primary school is on the doorstep. The ‘Woodcote’ is priced from £445,000 and right now comes with a choice of £7,250 towards Stamp Duty or being available through Part Exchange. Ready to move into in September, it has a kitchen upgrade worth over £3,800 and wardrobe included worth £1,200.
‘Holden’ house type
DWH @ Linmere currently has three- and four-bedroom homes for sale priced from £422,500 to £585,000. Top-of-the-range right now, the ‘Holden’ can be purchased through Part Exchange Xtra initiative, which starts with estate agents trying to sell your existing home (fees paid by David Wilson) and if they can’t, the housebuilder will offer a price to pay for it to remove the hassles of the property chain. This spacious double-fronted home comes with kitchen/dining/family room, lounge, utility room, study, family bathroom and four generous double bedrooms, one with en suite.
Barratt Homes is at Lavender Grange, which is now 90% sold and all remaining homes for sale will be ready to move into this summer. There’s a range of four- and five bedrooms available and each comes with electric vehicle charging points. Located in the village of Lower Stondon, halfway between Hitchin and Biggleswade, this development incorporates some nine acres of open spaces and families will be impressed by the ’Good’ and ‘Outstanding’ rated schools nearby. There’s a great offer on the ‘Alderney’ house type on Plot 69, at £550,000. This double-fronted detached home currently comes with offers worth some £27,500. This is a combination of £17,500 Stamp Duty paid and upgrades worth over £10,800 including kitchen appliances, main bathroom fittings, and flooring. There are French doors to the garden from both the kitchen/family room and separate lounge, and the ground floot also has a dining room and cloakroom. One of the three double bedrooms comes with en suite, and there’s also a single bedroom and a family bathroom. Outside is the single garage and private driveway.
