Barratt London is offering a number of opportunities for first-time buyers looking for a home in the capital that doesn’t cost a fortune at New Market Place, its development in East Ham, with homes ready to move into next spring.

New Market Place is a collection of 277 new homes located off a thriving East London high street, with great range of local amenities on the doorstep. East Ham Underground station is just a short walk away, providing great transport links into the City in just 18 minutes, while a new Crossrail station at Manor Park will offer swift connections across the capital.

All apartments include private outdoor space, with residents also able to enjoy communal landscaped gardens and a rooftop terrace to make the most of the great outdoors.

To assist first-time buyers, Barratt London is offering London Help to Buy on selected plots, meaning the buyer will need a deposit of 5% and a mortgage for 55% of the price – the remaining 40% is provided as an equity loan by the government, which is interest-free for the first five years. For a price of £350,000, the purchaser would need a deposit of £17,500 and a mortgage of £192,500.

A new release at Gordon House in New Market Place is a first-floor studio which is priced at £276,995, which offers 450 sq ft of living space in the form of a kitchen/living room with doors to the generous balcony, an area for a double bed and furniture, which comes with its own Juliet balcony, and a bathroom. There are a number of useful storage cupboards. A similar-sized (440 sq ft) studio in the same layout on the seventh floor is priced at £325,995.

For a larger starter home, a fifth-floor one-bedroom apartment could be a perfect choice. Located in Raine House, a 614-sq-ft home with L-shaped open-plan kitchen/living/dining which has a balcony and separate Juliet balcony, a double bedroom with its own Juliet balcony, a family bathroom and some useful storage cupboards. This is priced from £343,995. Key workers could further benefit from an exclusive offer worth up to £15,000 on this property.

At £344,995 is another one-bedroom apartment, this one on the fourth floor. At 552 sq ft, this has an open-plan kitchen/living/dining with access to the private balcony, a double bedroom with its own Juliet balcony, a family bathroom and some useful storage cupboards. This is price from £343,995. The Key Worker offer is valid on this property too.
