Some Great Gardens At Housebuilder’s North East Developments

Excellent private outside space has become a greater priority for homebuyers over the last couple of years as they see the benefits of having somewhere to enjoy the weather, entertain guests or become a successful gardener – and Barratt Developments current has homes with great gardens at plots across the North East.

Barratt Developments – a former WhatHouse? Housebuilder of the Year – has developments of new homes in County Durham, Tyne and Wear, and Northumberland under its Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes brands. Between them, they offer an impressive range of house types that will please everyone from those buying their first home to families looking for more space, and homeowners downsizing to a more manageable, low-maintenance brand new home.

We seek out a few of the most exceptional plots which offer appealing gardens with which to make the most of your private outdoor space.

Burdon Green is a development of three- and four-bedroom houses in Coxhoe, close to both lovely countryside and Durham city centre. Plot 111 , the three-bedroom ‘Lutterworth’, which will be ready to move into this spring. Not only has delightful south-west-facing garden but also several financial offers right now. Church Fields, in the semi-rural village of New Hartley and with easy access to A192, has a great range of two-, three- and four-bedroom homes starting at £126,995 thanks to a special discount scheme partnership with Northumberland County Council. These plots are only available for specific customers who meet affordability and other eligibility criteria. Other buyers with a property to sell can ask about Barratt Homes Part Exchange scheme. The pick of this development right now for garden-lovers is Plot 264 £314,995, called the ‘Windermere’. The kitchen/dining room accesses this south-facing rear garden through French doors, and the ground floor also features a utility room, lounge, cloakroom and useful storage. There’s another sizeable cupboard off the hallway, as are three double bedrooms (one with en suite), a single bedroom and the family bathroom. Priced from £314,995, this house comes with single garage and parking for up to three more cars.

The Drive at Mount Oswald has been selling quickly and offers a variety of four- and five-bedroom executive homes located just two miles from Durham city centre and on the doorstep of picturesque woodland and nature trails. One of the four--bedroom houses currently for sale is the ‘Avondale’ on Plot 73, which comes in a sought-after corner plot with south-facing garden. Priced at £504,995, this house type also has a single garage and private parking. There are doors to the garden from the kitchen/dining room, the triple-aspect lounge and the utility room, and there’s also a study and a cloakroom on the ground floor. Upstairs, all bedrooms are spacious doubles, with an en suite shower to bedroom one. The other three share the four-piece family bathroom.
