WhatHouse? takes a tour of the beautiful five-bedroom show home at Appledown Grange by Jones Homes...

Bright, airy space combining traditional style with contemporary home comfort underlines the high-quality living on offer at Jones Homes’ prestigious Appledown Grange development in Marden.

The village of Marden is surrounded by scenic orchards where apple growing still makes Kent ‘the garden of England’. Many amenities include a farm shop, bakery and highly rated village primary school. The local railway station gets commuters to the heart of London in less than an hour and both Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells are within easy reach by road.

Sara Stanhope, sales director for Jones Homes Southern, said that the show homes at Appledown Grange had been carefully designed to showcase the best of a modern classic style.

She says: “The homes we are building here at Marden have proven particularly popular with growing families, so we have designed the show home to reflect a classic, relaxed style.”

WhatHouse? has taken a tour of the five-bedroom Hamilton showhome. Flexible family living includes a dual aspect open plan kitchen-dining room mirrored in shape and size by a spacious living room. There are three double bedrooms on the first floor, the master with a luxury en-suite bathroom and a generous family bathroom, plus two further bedrooms and a shower room above.

Appledown Grange (Jones Homes)Dining / kitchen: Two rooms in one well-proportioned, open plan living area present a fabulous sociable dining kitchen, beautifully presented in subtle tones to maximise the spacious layout. Classic, Shaker-style fitted cupboards with black granite worktops and sleek, polished chrome handles range across three walls. Ceramic tiled flooring extends into the broad bay area, sweetly lifted by the abstract blossom print, an elegant dining table and comfy padded chairs, perfectly set for dinner.

Appledown Grange (Jones Homes)Living room: Comfort is key to this relaxing living room inspired by the conviviality of Hygge style. The neutral colour scheme is a perfect backdrop in this spacious, dual aspect room with a square bay window flooding light through to the rear. Contemporary leaf motif curtaining, the traditional tan leather chair in the window, an olive dogtooth-check ottoman on a Danish rug and light oak, louvred sideboard invite you to bask in the warmth of the stone minster-style fireplace, while the rectangular mirror doubles the sparkle of the sculpted candelabra.

Appledown Grange (Jones Homes)Master bedroom: The main bedroom is a master stroke of laid-back style, providing the perfect haven for relaxing, with an opulent, marble-tiled shower room. A large double bed with soft, padded headboard takes centre stage, draped with a comforting array of crisp white linen, quilted covers and cosy cushions, with plush carpeting underfoot. Contemporary built-in wardrobes blend seamlessly with simply crafted cupboards, elaborate floor-length curtains and ambient, Romanesque bedside lighting. A calming landscape and gleaming vase of fragrant roses complete the tranquil picture.

The Hamilton show home epitomises stylish good taste; the luxury of space and a high-quality finish immaculately delivered within a taupe, cream and soft grey palette, brought to life by richly textured throws, soft furnishings and the finest decorative touches.

The Appledown Grange Sales Centre is open daily from 10am to 5.30pm.
