Cheshire Show Homes To Open With Heritage-Inspired Interiors

The professionally styled properties at Victoria Mills will showcase the specification of Anwyl’s homes to future homebuyers, while giving a nod to the location’s history as a wallpaper factory.  

Cheshire-based Lifestyle Interiors have designed the properties, incorporating wallpaper from Fine Décor, who occupied the site before making a move to new premises in Congleton. Older samples of wallpaper and archive photography from The Holmes Chapel Wall Paper company, who first set up at Victoria Mills in 1911 also feature.

Graeme Gibb, sales director for Anwyl Homes in Cheshire, explains: “The site had been used for wallpaper manufacturing since the early 20th century, when the Holmes Chapel Wall Paper Company was established.

“In the Glyn show home, we are featuring archive photography from the original factory to honour the history of the location. We have also used Fine Décor wallpaper in bedroom three of the Glyn. This room has been designed for a teenager studying textiles / print design and in the styling of this room we have displayed historic wallpaper samples from the original factory, found on site during remediation.”

The four-bedroom detached Glyn is ideal for growing families, who will love the undeniable sense of space and style. There’s a spacious open-plan kitchen/dining area on the ground floor which will instantly become the heart of the home, while a separate living room will allow space for relaxation time. Upstairs, there are four double bedrooms – the main with a handy en-suite shower room – and a well-equipped, luxurious family bathroom.

The show home has been designed with a warm and inviting scheme, featuring a neutral, earthy colour palette and natural textures like linen and dried foliage. Accents of black are introduced through the stylish furniture and accessories, giving the home a contemporary feel.

In the neighbouring three-bedroom Bretton show home, the designers have brought in deep and inky blues paired with stone and warm grey, while adding a luxury edge with metallic elements and marble. Perfect for a young family the property includes a nursery with a dreamlike moon and stars theme.

Victoria Mills will eventually feature 138 new homes in a range of styles, including two-bedroom bungalows, and two-, three- and four-bedroom houses to suit families, first-time buyers and downsizers.

Located within walking distance of local shops, schools and the train station, the development will also include a play area and areas of green open space for residents and the wider community to enjoy.

Homes have been proving popular and current availability includes three-bedroom semi-detached properties from £299,995.

The show homes will be open to the public from 10am on Saturday 5 February. A sales centre is also open for visitors to view plans and speak to Anwyl’s friendly homes advisors for more information.
