Waltham Forest Borough’s New Homes Activity

There's currently plenty for new home seekers to consider around the London Borough of Waltham Forest...

The London Borough of Waltham Forest, to the north of the capital, includes places like Walthamstow, Leyton and Chingford, and also has parts of Epping Forest and the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park within its border.

The council is planning to see at least 19,000 homes built in the Borough over the next 15 years, so house-hunters can anticipate a lot of market activity in the future. there’s a very active regeneration and new homes scene right now for those looking to move into a new home in the near future. With property prices in Walthamstow having risen by over 10% over the past year, it’s worth investigating with haste.

Coachmakers Yard, newly launched by Notting Hill Genesis, could be the ideal way to take a first step on the property ladder, with its range of one-, two- and three-bedroom Shared Ownership apartments only a three-minute walk from Blackhorse Road station in Zone 3. Mixed-tenure developer Countryside has partnered with Waltham Forest Council and officially unveiled the multi-use games area (MUGA) at Feature17, the £190million regeneration scheme of the 50-year-old Marlowe Road estate in Walthamstow. The opening was attended by Cllr Louise Mitchell, Cllr Simon Miller and Stuart Murray from Waltham Forest Council and Mike Woolliscroft, chief executive Partnerships South, Daniel Layton, managing director of Partnerships North London, and Dan Kelly, construction director from Countryside.

The MUGA is a 345sqm, floodlit multi-use play park offering space for a range of sports including basketball and football for all ages and abilities. The area is split into three to target different age groups: a fixed play area with equipment for 10 years and above, along with a large toddler play area and exercise gym equipment for all ages.

Already an established community with a number of residents calling Feature17 home, it recently launched, a collection of 98 one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments called Scene 2 was recently launched. So far 65% sold off-plan, sales agency Red Loft has recently opened a new show home at Centenary House in Highams Park, which is the first development by Sixty Bricks, the London Borough of Waltham Forest’s wholly owned housing development company, While 21 of the original 34 homes have been reserved, there are still 12 of the one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments available through Help to Buy.

There will also be a residents-only ground floor courtyard garden and rooftop terrace on the third floor, complete with seating areas to relax and socialise, raised planters and communal growing beds for residents to grow their own produce.

Homes from the final phase are now available at Blackhorse View, a development of 350 new homes in Walthamstow, opposite Blackhorse Road Underground station.
