New Lubbesthorpe is a growing development on Tay Road from David Wilson Homes and its ‘sister’ brand Barratt Homes.
Around 200 residents have already moved in, one of whom is Debra Marriot, who secured one of the development’s contemporary two-bedroom apartments. She said: “The local area is really coming together and the new school on the development looks amazing. The neighbours who I have met are all lovely too.
“My apartment is great with two really good-sized bedrooms and two bathrooms. I love that when I come home from a day at work, my apartment is so cosy and homely.”

Charlotte and Pete Hitchings also secured a new home at New Lubbesthorpe with their sons Eddie and Will and, since moving in, Charlotte has created an Instagram account to share the unique characteristics of her property (@the_family_den).
She said: ““Flicking through a homes and interiors magazine, other Instagram accounts and Pinterest are some of my favourite pastimes and I love that I get to share my ideas with other people now. I think the use of Instagram for new homes is so popular as it’s like a free home magazine that you can tailor to your own style and house.”
With green open spaces and New Lubbesthorpe Primary School now open onsite, it’s no surprise to see growing families choosing the development to lay down some roots. Ultrafast fibre broadband is available at the development and, as many properties accommodate spare rooms or dedicated studies, home working can be comfortably achieved.
Jan Ruston, sales director at Barratt Homes North Midlands, said: “We’re very proud of our New Lubbesthorpe development and the close-knit community that all of our homebuyers have helped it become. Close to Leicester city centre, the development is ideal for first time buyers and growing families alike.”
