Top 10 Reasons to Buy at... Base at Newhall in Harlow

Posted 15 October 2019 by Keith Osborne

10 top reasons why house-hunters should consider purchasing a home at Base at Newhall from housebuilder Countryside...

The WhatHouse? team recently visited Base at Newhall in Harlow, Essex to find out from our host, Andrew Loveday, sales and marketing director at Countryside, the ten best reasons to buy a new home there.

Reason 1: A great variety of properties available.

This 700-unit development will offer a range of striking one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, and three- and four-bedroom houses across eight phases. The launch of Base marks this housebuilder’s return to this urban village following the success of its previous development in the area.

Reason 2: There’s a high-quality standard specification.

As we also saw recently at Countryside’s Beam Park development in East London, while there are options for things like flooring and kitchen units available, the show homes demonstrate what you get for the asking price and not what you’d have to pay thousands of pounds extra for.

There is a selection of show homes to look around: a three-storey, four-bedroom, 1,668-sq-ft ‘Byford’ which has been professionally furnished and decorated by JSP Interiors; a three-bedroom ‘Seymour’ fitted out by HAUS Interiors, and a two-bedroom apartment complete with Habitat furnishings, which is part of a special buyer incentive.

Each show home demonstrates the extent of standard fittings, so for example the integrated appliances such as a dishwasher are included as part of the package.

Reason 3: Houses and apartment blocks have an appealing contemporary design.

The house types at Base are standard Countryside designs that have been tweaked, so they don’t just look like properties elsewhere. On the outside there are several complementary finishes, such as brick, render and weatherboarding, while inside, homes are flooded with natural light from the floor-to-ceiling windows.

Reason 4: Homes enjoy open plan living spaces.

Base at Newhall, CountrysideHomes at Base offer the best of open plan living, with thoughtfully designed flexible living areas that can be adapted for a variety of needs, be it entertaining family and friends, a cosy office or a relaxing retreat from busy life. Meanwhile, generous kitchens incorporate sophisticated integrated appliances, while large feature windows flood each property with natural light.

Reason 5: There are plenty of things within easy reach of home.

Harlow Town station can be reached in around five-minutes by car which has direct trains to London Liverpool Street taking less than 30 minutes and Stansted Airport can be reached in just 15 minutes by car. There are also several schools, parks and sports facilities a short distance away. By car, the M11 is just under ten minutes away and the M25 in just over ten minutes away, giving access to Chelmsford, St Albans, Cambridge and Intu Lakeside Shopping Centre all under an hour.

Reason 6: Variety of choice.

All homes at Countryside boast a signature style and character, designed to cater for busy modern lifestyles. Every development built by Countryside offers a variety of homes to suit different needs – whether it be apartments for first-time buyers and downsizers or a house ideal for growing families – you will find a range of house types and layouts available.

Reason 7: Outstanding customer service.

If you purchase your new home at Countryside you can expect regular contact from its sales progression team through every stage of the buying process, to ensure that you are happy and comfortable at each step. Once you’ve moved into your new home, the Customer Service team can be reached during normal office hours for any questions you may have.

Buyers at Countryside will also be provided with a 24-hour number to call in the event of an urgent enquiry relating to heating, plumping or electrical issues.

Reason 8: Award-winning developments.

Countryside’s expertise has been recognised by more than 350 awards for design and sustainability excellence, including a RIBA Stirling Prize along with Housing Design Awards and numerous WhatHouse? Awards - inclusing a Gold in 2018..

At its first development at Newhall, Countryside won a clutch of prestigious awards for its striking architecture, so you know you’re in safe hands when buying with Countryside.

Reason 9: Appeal to first-time buyers.

Base at Newhall (Countryside)Countryside has the government-funded Help to Buy scheme available on several of its homes, and in addition, it continually has tailored incentives and schemes on offer to help first-time buyers’ step onto the property ladder. For example, currently at Base there is a furniture package – in partnership with Habitat – available for buyers as well as a move in for £99 incentive.

Reason 10: Commitment to communities.

Countryside is a UK developer specialising in building communities, not just houses. With over 60 years’ experience, Countryside continues to make a positive impact with regeneration schemes in London, the South East, the North West of England and the West Midlands, often partnering with local authorities and housing associations.

Prices at Base at Newhall currently start at £225,995 for a one-bedroom apartment and £294,995 for a two-bedroom apartment, with three-bedroom houses from £435,000 and four-bedroom houses from £475,000.
