Keith OsborneBurrington Estates, which builds residential and commercial developments across the South West and Central England, is celebrating its recognition as one of the very best in the industry following its win at the WhatHouse? Awards 2022.
Judged by an elite panel of property experts, including architects, surveyors, property writers and industry specialists, the Best Small Housebuilder award recognises outstanding work carried out by niche housebuilders that construct less than 100 homes a year.
Burrington Estates, celebrating its tenth anniversary next year and with offices in Exeter and Stratford-upon-Avon, is known for its high quality, and this win reflects its continued commitment to provide homes of distinction, create communities and improve quality of life for its customers.
Judges admired the company for “an environmental charter and building to exceed government carbon emission reduction targets. Its timber is sustainably resourced; it uses smart energy controls and EV charging points, as well as PV and PV battery storage as upgrades, while there is a commitment to net biodiversity gain on its sites, with hedgerows retained or planted, rather than fencing.”
They also pointed out that “technology is high on its agenda too, with a bold ambition to become the ‘Tesla of housebuilding’ and with an innovative digital journey for customers.”

David Jervis, group managing director at Burrington Estates, commented: “We are absolutely thrilled to have won the bronze award in the Best Small Housebuilder category at the WhatHouse? Awards. This is a strong endorsement of our approach, which is to create unique developments individually designed to suit their setting, while raising the bar in design and build. We are committed to creating vibrant communities that guarantee a legacy which residents can enjoy for many years to come. Gaining this title is fantastic way to round off our year at Burrington Estates and we look forward to building on this success in 2023.”
Current developments include Tilehurst Green, which includes a range of two-, three- and four-bedroom houses within walking distance of the thriving village of Binfield in Berkshire. Recently launched in Deddington, Oxfordshire, is Clifton Gate, an exclusive collection of just ten two- to five-bedroom homes which feature contemporary interiors to complement the homes' more classic Cotswold-style exteriors. Highwood Gardens in Tiverton, Devon has just a few of its three-, four- and five-bedroom homes remaining for sale.
