Final Help To Buy Homes At Watford Scheme

Posted 26 May 2022 by Keith Osborne

Just 11 new apartments that qualify for Help to Buy remain for sale at Weston Homes' The Laundry Works...

First-time buyers have a limited time to secure a luxurious apartment with the government-backed Help to Buy initiative at The Laundry Works in Watford, by Weston Homes.

With only 11 apartments left available at The Laundry Works with Help to Buy, which enables first-time buyers, subject to terms and conditions, to buy their home with a deposit of 5% and a Help to Buy equity loan of up to 20%, further adding to the ease for first-time buyers to get onto the property ladder with Weston Homes.

The sales team at The Laundry Works is available to support and guide first-time buyers through the process helping to take out any worry along the way. Weston Homes, which has won many prestigious WhatHouse? Awards including two in 2021, also provides its own unique First-time SecureBuy (FTSB) scheme at The Laundry Works and will still be available to buyers after the Help to Buy scheme ends next year.

The FTSB scheme allows first-time buyers to reserve a home off-plan for just a £500 reservation fee, with a requirement of only a 5% exchange deposit and then, six months before build completion, the buyer can apply for a mortgage. Should the value of the property increase in the time between reservation and build completion, buyers will only pay the price agreed on the day they reserved their property. A full refund of the reservation fee and exchange deposit can be arranged if the buyer’s circumstances change prior to legal completion, subject to terms and conditions.

The Laundry WorksThe Laundry Works in Watford is an £85million development on the site of the old Watford Laundry Factory. Set within a wide tree-lined boulevard with communal landscaped gardens, pedestrian pathways and new green planting, the 2.5-acre site features eight distinctive brick façade buildings which will provide 248 new one-, two- and three- bedroom apartments and penthouses.

All the apartments feature a comprehensive premium specification as standard with well-conceived interior features. Flexible open-plan living spaces have floor-to-ceiling windows flooding the apartments with natural light. The contemporary kitchens by Oakwood Kitchens have quartz stone worktops and upstands, a wide range of integrated appliances and stainless-steel sink with integrated removable chopping board, tap with hose-spray extension and separate instant boiling and cold water filtered tap. The bathrooms have white suites, walk-in Fascino Smart showers or bathtubs, heated towel rails, integrated vanity storage, an illuminated mirror with de-mist feature and a choice of porcelain floor and wall tile colours and finishes.

The eight apartment buildings range in height from three to 13 storeys, with nearly all apartments featuring a private terrace or balcony. The development also includes 167 car parking spaces and secure cycle parking.

The Laundry WorksThe Laundry Works will see the creation of a thriving new residential neighbourhood within an area noted for its green spaces and decidedly village-like feel. Buyers will enjoy a relaxed lifestyle whilst still being close to the buzz of city life. Watford Underground station on the Metropolitan line is just a 10-minute walk and provides excellent connections to central London and beyond. Watford’s largest open space, award-winning Cassiobury Park, is nearby and the 165-acre Whippendell Wood offers numerous walks. The tranquil landscaped podium gardens within the development provide the perfect setting to meet neighbours and host friends and family close to home.

Suzanne Aplin, group sales & marketing director at Weston Homes, said: “The government Help to Buy scheme and our FTSB scheme give first-time buyers a chance to buy one of our fantastic apartments at The Laundry Works, however, buyers must hurry to make use of the Help to Buy scheme which ends next year. Buying a property is a dream for many first-time buyers and we are delighted, with these schemes, to be able to help them to achieve that.”

Homes at The Laundry Works are priced from £269,000 available through the Help to Buy scheme with a 5% deposit and a Help to Buy equity loan of up to 20%. The marketing suite and show home are open seven days a week from 10.00am to 5.00pm.
