The extension of the Stamp Duty holiday in the Budget this spring has seen a new wave of activity in the property market, and Essex house-hunters won’t be disappointed by three new launches at developments in sought-after locations in the county.
Weston Homes has unveiled a brand new show home at 1023 West, a development it recently released in Brentwood. It’s a two-bedroom apartment professionally decorated and fitted to highlight the specification and options available. It boasts a principal bedroom with en suite, a second bedroom, family bathroom and open-plan kitchen, living and dining area, all influenced by Art Deco interiors with vibrant warm yellow, blue and orange soft furnishings, feature black walls and monochromatic geometric wallpaper. With expansive glazing throughout, the light-filled rooms are bright and inviting – all designed to inspire new homeowners, allowing them to visualise living in their new home at 1023 West.
1023 West comprises 81 homes, including converted and newly built one- and two-bedroom apartments and three- and four-bedroom houses, amongst which is the meticulous conversion of La Plata House, a Georgian manor-house formerly used as a police station. The homes are set within attractive gardens and mature landscaped grounds
A new marketing suite complements the show apartment, with both open daily from 10.00am to 5.00pm by appointment only. Prospective purchasers can tailor the specification of their home and choose from a wide selection of colours and finishes for items including kitchen cabinets and quartz stone worktops, bathroom flooring and wall tiles, carpets and other fittings. Also available is an interactive touchscreen illustrating floor plans and availability.
Suzanne Aplin, group sales and marketing director of Weston Homes, said: “We are delighted that the launch at 1023 West provides buyers with the opportunity to view our fabulous show apartment and then to visit the marketing suite to look at our wide range of specification and fitting choices available to all buyers, subject to stage of construction.
Located just a few minutes’ walk from Brentwood town centre and station, apartments at 1023 West start from £335,000, with a range of Discount Market Sale homes available from £265,000 (subject to eligibility), and from £655,000 for a three-bedroom house with a private garden and garage. Chelsea Reynolds, director at Aitch Group, said: “As the UK begins to gradually emerge in a fresh post-pandemic world life will begin to return to normal. There is considerable pent-up demand in the downsizer marketplace and there remains a strong and growing trend of retirees looking to downsize from family homes in villages into bustling town centres. Some householders have felt isolated during the lockdowns and now want amenities and social life on their doorstep rather than being a drive away. The lockdown has accelerated this trend and made carefully-designed developments such as Hollyoak House even more relevant.”

Westley Green
Redrow launches three show homes at its popular Westley Green development on Saturday 27 March – the three-bedroom ‘Stratford Lifestyle’, four-bedroom ‘Cambridge’ and four-bedroom ‘Oxford’, all from the housebuilder’s Arts and Crafts-inspired Heritage Collection.
Westley Green is a 725-home community which neighbours a 400-acre country park and has several play areas, a trim trail and community allotments onsite. 250 homeowners have already moved in there, with a significant increase of homes purchased by buyers relocating from London over the past 12 months.
The opening of the new show homes follows a recent release of new homes, with 63 three- and four-bedroom homes made available earlier this year and 12 already reserved off-plan in a matter of weeks.
The ‘Stratford Lifestyle’ has overhanging eaves, traditional bay windows and a portico roofed entrance. The ‘Lifestyle’ name indicates that each of the three double bedrooms has its own en suite. For the larger family, the ‘Oxford’ has an open-plan kitchen and dining area, as well as an elegant lounge. Like the ‘Oxford’, the ‘Cambridge’ has the kitchen as the hub of the home, and a spacious separate lounge. Flexible layouts can cater for uses such as a home office.
Kerry McCoubrey, sales director at Redrow Eastern, commented: “Westley Green is ideally suited to cater to these shifting lifestyle priorities, with Langdon Hills Country Park on the doorstep and our spacious Heritage Collection homes designed to suit busy family life. Customers reserving off-plan can make use of our MyRedrow platform, where buyers can personalise their new home whether that is choosing paint and tile colours, upgrading worktops and appliances or even adding a conservatory, it is all available to do during the build process.
“The new show homes help to give prospective buyers a real sense of the space Redrow offers, and it is very easy to book an appointment on our website to visit the homes and meet our sales consultants.”
Prices for a three-bedroom home start a £426,995. Redrow also offers its own Help to Sell scheme, which assists existing homeowners with the sale of their previous property and is open to all buyers wishing to purchase a home with Redrow. Physical or video appointments with sales consultants are available to book. Find out more about Wesley Green from Redrow.
