Free Mortgage Advice Events In Edinburgh This Weekend
Taylor Wimpey East Scotland has joined forces with First Mortgage to take its Understanding Mortgages event out on tour to visit some of its developments in the east of Scotland to dispel some of the myths that exist about mortgages.
The first two events will be hosted by a team at Taylor Wimpey East Scotland’s Hawthorn Gardens in South Queensferry and Bankfield Brae in Edinburgh on Saturday 3 June and Sunday 4 June 2023, from 11.30am each day.
The aim of these events is to give prospective buyers an insight into everything they need to know to get themselves financially ready to purchase a new home. A specialist from First Mortgage will be available to chat through the most popular mortgage facts and fiction with interested homebuyers.
Sales executives from Taylor Wimpey’s developments at Lauder Grove, Ratho and West Craigs, Maybury will join the event in South Queensferry. The local sales executive for Farrier Fields, South Gilmerton will also join the team at nearby Bankfield Brae. It’s an ideal opportunity to take the mystery out of getting a mortgage to buy a new home. The sales office for the participating developments will remain open during this event, giving prospective homeowners a chance to visit and also sample the range of benefits there are to living in these different parts of the city.
Expert advice for new homes mortgages
Kirsty McGill, sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey East Scotland, commented: “A specialist new build market mortgage adviser is uniquely positioned to guide buyers through the mortgage process. They can use their expert knowledge to ensure that all the information required is gathered and checked before an application is made and that the right mortgage product is selected dependent on the applicant’s individual circumstances.
“The format of our successful Understanding Mortgages was originally online, but we’re taking the opportunity to get our experts out and about to take the mystery out of getting a mortgage to buy a new home. We hope prospective buyers take the chance to pop along to either Hawthorn Gardens or Bankfield Brae developments to find out more.
“Our experienced sales teams are on-hand to help buyers wherever they are on their property journey, and our mortgage experts from First Mortgage are available to chat through buyers’ financial options. I’d also encourage buyers to explore each of our developments during this event weekend to experience and see for themselves the different benefits that each area of Edinburgh might offer them.”
Adele Crookston from First Mortgage is keen to support Taylor Wimpey East Scotland in raising awareness of what is available for its customers to help them make their next move, as she explained: “With so many lenders fighting for business and so many options available on the market, having an adviser who understands the mortgage market and the new build sector has never been more important. We have found that clients who had already spoken to another broker, or their bank, or perhaps assumed they can’t borrow what they need or thought perhaps they can’t get a mortgage, found that once they spoke to us, they had more choices than they realised.
“We want to keep markets moving and support clients out there to get on that property ladder or make that next move. We would encourage clients to come speak to us and see what is available for them, we uncover every stone for them to find the right mortgage for them and it’s all free!”
