Posted 14 June 2021 by Keith Osborne

House-hunters can consider a host of new homes for sale in East and West Sussex across a range of budget...

House-hunters in East and West Sussex now have some brand new selections of homes to consider after a number of launches across the counties.

David Wilson Homes has unveiled Chalkers Rise in Peacehaven, with the first homes now on sale and a show home to view by appointment. This initial release is a selection of four-bedroom family homes. The show home is the ‘Bayswater’ house type, set over three floors, with kitchen/dining/family room, separate lounge downstairs WC and family bathroom on the first floor. All four bedrooms are doubles, with the top floor dedicated to bedroom one, with en suite and dressing area.

Lynnette St-Quintin, sales and marketing director for David Wilson Southern Counties, commented: “We’re extremely excited to launch our eagerly awaited first phase of homes at Chalkers Rise. Peacehaven is one of East Sussex’s best-kept secrets, just a short drive down the coast from Brighton, yet an attractive seaside destination in its own right. It’s a fantastic location for first time buyers and growing families, with coast and countryside on its doorstep, including the historic chalk Telscome Cliffs. A range of fantastic local shopping, leisure, and school facilities are also available in town.”

Prices at Chalkers Rise currently start at £444,995. Help to Buy will be available on later phases. Find out more from David Wilson Homes.

A first phase has been launched at Columbia House in Durrington, Worthing. The Mayor cut the ribbon at the official unveiling of the first of 116 apartments coming to the conversion of an old office building, enhanced by the creation of two new floors to make space for ten extra homes, including two penthouses. There’s a mix of studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom units, served by allocated car parking spaces and electric car charging points. Phase 1 is already nearly 70% reserved.

Chris Trott, director of selling agent Coast & Country Real Estate, said: “Pullman Construction is delivering a reimagined iconic building into a stylish and modern development at great prices for young buyers and potential investors, which will no doubt have a positive impact on the local area. We anticipate Phase 1 to sell out in the next couple of weeks and look forward to working with the lucky buyers in going through their kitchen and bathroom colour choices. We are inviting anyone who is interested to contact us and arrange for their one-on-one appointment where we can show them the marketing suite and around the site.”

Subject to the final planning permission, developer Pullman Construction will also build a brand new building to the left of Columbia House with the aim of creating another 70-80 apartments. Find out more at www.columbiahouseworthing.com.

A new incentive has just been launched at Hoadlands Grange in Handcross. There are a few homes here available through the Home Reach initiative. This is a ‘part buy-part rent’ scheme run by housing provider heylo in partnership with a number of housebuilders across England. The initiative is open to first-time buyers who meet the qualifying criteria and is a way of purchasing a share of a new build home (usually starting at 50%) and paying a subsidised rent on the remainder. There are all the benefits of homeownership but it requires a much smaller deposit and mortgage than purchasing outright. Owners can buy further shares as their budget allows, until they own 100%.

There’s a two-bedroom apartment available at Primrose Court, priced at £149,975 based on 50% share with a full market value of £299,950. This comes with two double bedrooms, built-in wardrobes to bedroom one, a family bathroom and an open-plan kitchen/dining/living room with doors to a private balcony. An alternative is a maisonette, also with two double bedrooms and a utility room of the kitchen/dining/living room. This is priced at £131,980 for a 40% share (full market value £329,950).

The new incentive offer has just been unveiled and is valid until 31 July 2021. Buyers who reserve their new home there before that date could qualify for Home Reach contributing up to £2,500 towards legal fees, a significant amount for anyone purchasing a home but especially for people taking a first step on the property ladder. Terms and conditions apply. Find out more about Hoadlands Grange from Home Reach.

Alphium has just released its latest phase of homes at Woodgate, a development in Pease Pottage. Woodlands Edge is a collection of two- and three-bedroom houses in a contemporary design inspired by the traditional architecture of the area. Located on the edge of the High Weald, living here means equally easy access to countryside and the amenities and transport connections of nearby Crawley and Horsham.
