The ultimate home for a hound on National Dog Day

To celebrate National Dog Day WhatHouse? takes a look at what could be considered the ultimate abode for a discerning dog that wants to live in style

Today is National Dog Day and to celebrate we have details of a fantastic home which features the ultimate home for a pampered pooch.

National Dog Day celebrates all types and breeds of dogs, their amazing relationship with humans and their history of protecting us, saving lives and bringing comfort as well as highlighting the need to help rescue dogs.

Not every dog will be as fortunate as the one owned by residents who move into Octagon’s latest show home at Falconwood House on St George’s Hill private estate near Weybridge, Surrey.

It certainly couldn’t be described as a dog kennel! It’s more of a dog chalet and much nicer than the ones down at the seaside. In fact, I’d go as far as to say that the ‘Cape Cod’ style structure that the fortunate hound will live in should have cottage status and is possibly larger than some London apartments.

The view from the garden terrace where the dog cottage is located is impressive too, with views over the famous St George’s Hill golf course. The one acre landscaped gardens are a fitting environment for man’s best friend to take in the closer views of the garden, including the deep paved terrace and adjoining infinity pool.

If the dog ever needs to move from his pad, then the inside of the large detached family home is impressive too, featuring five double bedroom suites, including a master bedroom with two en suite bathrooms and two dressing rooms, whilst amongst the four/five reception rooms, including a cinema room.

As well as having two golf courses, the St George’s Hill Estate, near Weybridge, has its own tennis and leisure club, with a wide range of sporting and fitness facilities.
