Telford Homes has brought in Rachel Battais Interiors to fit out a three-bedroom home at its Stone Studios scheme...

Telford Homes has launched a new show apartment at its Stone Studios development, located in the heart of Hackney Wick.

Designed and dressed by London-based Rachel Battais Interiors, the three-bedroom apartment has been expertly married with hand-picked, vintage decor and furniture incorporated throughout the space in order to encapsulate the quirkiness and creativity of the local area.

Spread over 1,043 sq ft, the apartment features an expansive, open-plan living/dining area providing the space and flexibility to be adapted to meet varying lifestyle needs, a large master bedroom with en suite as well as an additional guest bedroom. The third bedroom has been converted into a spacious study, ideal for those transforming living areas into permanent spaces for working.

The apartment’s living area has been designed to showcase the breadth of potential uses, with a sophisticated seating area surrounded by teak wood furnishing and complete with a gold drinks cart, making the ideal space for entertaining with friends and family. The deep navy incorporated in the painting above the sofa is picked up in the shades of blue on the cover of the vintage books on the coffee table and beautifully woven cushions.

In the centre of the room features an impressive black dining table complete with a ceramic vase containing a selection of carefully arranged dried eucalyptus and pampas grass. Perfectly blending together the old and the new, future residents can admire the extraordinary vintage pieces exhibited on the wooden bookshelf when dining together at the table, including an antique tennis racket sourced from Wimbledon. Drinks can be enjoyed at the kitchen island complete with bar stools, creating the ideal space for socialising at the weekend or even an additional place for working during the week.

Stone StudiosLeading off from the living area is a balcony with a relaxing seating area, decorated with luscious greenery and warm lighting, providing future residents with an ideal sanctuary away from the distractions of everyday life. Potential buyers can look out onto the communal courtyard that is complete with a play area and benches, perfect for socialising with family, friends and neighbours.

The master bedroom features a natural, organic colour palette; complete with beautiful artwork and reclaimed solid ash wood furniture that adds to the elegance of the space. Next to the bedroom is an impressive en suite, providing ample space for residents to get ready in the mornings. Both bedrooms offer deluxe finishes, including bespoke upholstered headboards that have been sourced from local suppliers, and floor-to-ceiling curtains.

With hybrid-working becoming a normality, the third bedroom has been transformed into study with an impressive teak wood desk and shelving perfect for showcasing ornaments. Skillfully displayed against the deep green walls are incredible retro black and white images that brilliantly capture life in the 1980s. At the far end of the room is a floor-to-ceiling window that allows for an abundance of natural light ideal for improving productivity and wellbeing, making it the perfect space for distinguishing work from home life.

Rachel Battais, founder of Rachel Battais Interiors, commented: ”I instantly fell in love with the cool and chaotic nature of Hackney Wick. The area’s industrial past, re-invented by a new generation, gives it a unique and unconventional character of its own. Designing the interior, we wanted to enhance the flexible and free-flowing living space that each apartment offers, which is ideal for urban living. Sourcing vintage furniture and soft furnishing locally from passionate craftspeople and artisans allowed us to encapsulate the vibrant and distinctive nature of the area within the walls of the apartment.”

Stone StudiosSimon Halfhide, sales director, Telford Homes, commented: “These spectacular apartments provide the perfect opportunity for residents to adapt their homes to meet their shifting needs – from working from home to exercising or entertaining. Combined with access to either a balcony or terrace as well as a peaceful outdoor courtyard, they are perfect for those looking for their new dream home post-lockdown.”

All apartments feature modern Ter Hurne Avatara flooring throughout, with spacious kitchens decked out with an onyx-grey finish, handless units and stone worktops.

One-, two- and three-bedroom apartments start from £500,000 and are available via the Help to Buy scheme, meaning first-time buyers can loan up to 40% of the purchase price. Find out more at www.stonestudios.london.

The Stone Studios development also includes over 5,000sqm of high-quality commercial space, of which 3,000sqm has recently been acquired by Creative Land Trust to offer as affordable workspace to local artists and entrepreneurs.

Buyers will also enjoy quick and easy access to the vibrant Broadway Market in nearby London Fields, as well as the shopping and entertainment options on offer at Westfield Stratford shopping centre. Nestled between the beautiful Victoria Park and the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, and conveniently located within close proximity to East London’s canal network and the River Lea, Stone Studios also offers an abundance of stunning green space within a stone’s throw from the development. Enjoy great transport links into central London, with direct public access to Hackney Wick Overground station (zone 2) as well as a 12-hour concierge and secure, purpose-built bicycle storage.
