Still opportunities to move in for Christmas, says Redrow in the North West

Redrow in Lancashire is offering a handful of homes across its developments which are ready for buyers to move into in time for the festive season...

House-hunters in Lancashire who are hoping to find a brand new home before the festive season still have an opportunity to make their move, says national housebuilder Redrow Homes.

Redrow, which won Silver for Best Large Housebuilder at the WhatHouse? Awards 2016 last Friday, has three developments in the county with homes that are ready to move into in time to invite the family round for turkey and all the trimmings. If that’s a little too soon for some, there’s the chance of a New Year start.

Daleside Meadows, Fulwood, close to countryside on the north-west outskirts of Preston, has just one three-bedroom ‘Worcester’ house for sale, priced £279,995. This detached property has a lounge to one side of the hallway, an open-plan kitchen/dining room at the rear, a cloakroom and a utility room that leads to the integral garage. Upstairs is a bathroom and three double bedrooms, with an en suite to the master bedroom.

In Standish, four miles north of Wigan, there is also just one home ready for a Yuletide move at Stone Brook. The ‘Harrogate’, at £334,995, is a double-fronted four-bedroom home. From the hallway lead the lounge, cloakroom and a generous L-shaped kitchen/dining/family room, with access to the rear garden and a utility/storage room. There are four double bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs, and again, the master bedroom has an en suite shower room and two bedrooms have built-in wardrobes.

Three homes are available at Lawson Rise in the village of Whalley, seven miles from Burnley and Blackburn. Here, there’s one ‘Sunningdale’ – a four-bedroom detached home with two en suites at £429,995 – and two ‘Marlborough’ houses, five-bedroom detached properties, again featuring two en suites, with bay windows and an integral double garage, priced £509,995.

“There’s a lot to be said for getting in first when it comes to choosing a new-build home, but there are many benefits to being one of the last to move in too,” says Claire Jarvis, sales director for Redrow Homes (Lancashire). “It can be a good feeling for buyers, knowing all the building work on the site around them is coming to an end, that their home is ready for occupation and they are joining an established community.

“Plus they still have all the advantages of a brand new home such as easy maintenance, in-built energy efficiency which should mean lower running costs, luxurious built-in appliances and top class fixtures and fittings. And all of it new and sparkly!”

Buyers can ask the sales teams at these Lancashire developments about the Help to Buy scheme – which of course is not just restricted to first-time buyers – and Redrow’s Mastermove scheme, where the company helps find sell your home and saves you the estate agent’s fees.
