Price Reductions On Hackney Wick Shared Ownership New Homes

Southern Housing New Homes has announced a couple of price reductions at its Vodion development in Hackney Wick, east London.

Vodion is a collection of one- and two-bedroom apartments available through Shared Ownership – an opportunity to ‘part buy-part rent’ a brand new home that requires a much smaller deposit and mortgage than buying outright. There’s a subsidised rent on the share you don’t own and you can buy more shares at a later date if you wish.

There are just nine units remaining for sale here, and Southern Housing New Homes has a couple of offers on selected plots:

Plot 115 in Duckett’s House is a first-floor property which has a double bedroom with generous fitted wardrobe, a bathroom, an open-plan kitchen/dining/living room and a private balcony. There are two useful storage cupboards built in as well as a utility cupboard for the washing machine and boiler. This had full market value of £440,000 but that has now been reduced to £405,000, so a minimum 25% share is now £101,250 through Shared Ownership.

Plot 117 is also on the first floor of the Duckett’s House block. This is a larger property which has an en suite main double bedroom with fitted wardrobe, an additional single bedroom which would make an ideal home office, a bathroom, and an open-plan kitchen/living/dining room which leads to a private balcony. Previously priced at £530,000, it now has an open-market value of £510,000, so a minimum 25% share is £127,500 for a 25% share.

The specification to both properties includes flooring throughout, Bosch and Zanussi fitted appliances and Silestone worktops to the handleless Commodore kitchen, contemporary fixtures and fittings to bathroom/en suite, chrome sockets and light switches, and a secure video entry system.

With the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and Victoria Park within easy reach, there’s plenty of green space and play areas at hand, and Westfield Stratford City is only two miles away.
