Posted 23 November 2016 by Ben Salisbury

CALA Homes has unveiled a spectacular new show home set over three storeys at its Great Kneighton development in Trumpingon, near Cambridge

Upmarket housebuilder CALA Homes has launched a stunning new show home at its Great Kneighton development in Cambridge, which demonstrates the latest interior design trends.

Set alongside the new 120 acre country park and close to Hobson Square, CALA Homes’ collection of 29 contemporary two-bedroom apartments and three, four and five-bedroom luxury homes forms part of the new Great Kneighton development and is based on the southern edge of Cambridge city centre in Trumpington.

It combines the benefits of living within one of England’s most historic and vibrant cities with the convenience and enjoyment of modern living. It is providing much needed new homes for Cambridge and benefits from improved transportation connections, including an extensive footpath/cycleway network.

Upstairs, there’s a formal sitting room with overhanging window and double doors, a large bathroom and two bedrooms. The second floor boasts two further bedrooms, a second family bathroom, plus the master suite with fitted wardrobes and four-piece en suite. Outside, the courtyard garden offers access to the double garage and terrace above.

The spectacular new show home has been designed by Rebecca Pearce, design director at Killer5 Interior Design Studios. She said: “A well thought-out showhome is key to helping visitors see how a space can be used and help people to imagine themselves living there. At Great Kneighton, my focus was to create a smart, contemporary family home.

“The Kingfisher is an exquisite four-bedroom semi-detached home with ample room over three storeys to really make a splash with the interior design choices.

“The colour palette used throughout this stunning home ranges from pale greys and silvers mixed with charcoal, to sophisticated black and navy, giving the look of a smart, high-end family home with a cool edge.”

Dining/kitchen area: “The spacious kitchen/dining area boasts a bespoke table, which features a stylish zinc metal top, dressed elegantly for dinner with the feel of a fine-dining restaurant in mind. The opulent lounge on the first floor is an eclectic mix of classic black, white and grey, and features an eye-catching feature wall with a stunning black, molten lava textured finish. The sleek colour scheme is mirrored by chic, black sheer floor to ceiling curtains, which frame the impressive double aspect windows. The room is brought to life with contrasting textures, including a bespoke slate grey, matte velvet corner sofa, black framed armchairs upholstered in charcoal wool and a plush white, deep pile rug. This is complemented with a stunning marble topped coffee table and side tables, alongside a light grey, gloss finish sideboard."

Master bedroom : “The top floor of this one-of-a-kind family home has been kept as a luxurious space for mum and dad to unwind after a busy day. The stunning master bedroom with en suite and separate dressing room could easily be mistaken for an elegant boutique hotel bedroom. A relaxing air of luxury has been created with layered velvet cushions, textured throws and a plush grey rug. However, the focal point of this room has to be the floor to ceiling his and hers headboard in deep navy velvet, that has a backdrop of textured wallpaper with a striking sparkle effect. There is also white gloss finish side tables either side of the double bed and a dressing table with dark grey, wool upholstered chair. Natural daylight pours in from the double aspect windows with views towards the water reserve, as well as French doors, which lead out on to the stunning private terrace complete with loungers – perfect for relaxing."

Bedroom 2: “The second bedroom has been treated as a smart guest bedroom with navy silk-effect wallpaper and a contrasting linen headboard with stitched detail. I have also created two bedrooms that are perfect for children. A race car theme has been created in bedroom three, which is highlighted by a racetrack wall mural and racing car wheel framed as artwork over the bed. Moving into bedroom four, this room is ideal for a teenage girl with metallic tile effect wallpaper and a winged headboard upholstered in velvet to give it an extra special, glamourous feel.”

Study: "As you enter the hallway, you’re greeted by a bold navy wall displaying a contemporary gallery of family photos, before being led into the study. This room has a real masculine feel – the black gloss furniture has an exquisite back drop of stunning navy textured wallpaper, with graphic-style artwork and a designer classic lounger chair finishing this contemporary workspace off to perfection."
