Luxury Thameside Development Launched In South-West London

Posted 16 May 2023 by Keith Osborne

A new collection of apartments and penthouses overlooking the Thames has been officially launched by developer Rockwell...

London-based mixed-use developer Rockwell has just launched Hurlingham Waterfront, a 3.2-acre luxury riverside development in SW6 which will offer a collection of high-specification, luxurious 269 apartments.

These brand new homes are set over buildings with four to 11 storeys, each with expansive gardens and panoramic views of the River Thames. This waterfront site is adjacent to Wandsworth Bridge on the north bank of the river, with Parson’s Green and Chelsea as close neighbours.

Natural beauty in design

This collection of studios, one-, two-, three- and four- bedroom apartments and penthouses has re-wilded roofscapes and a verdant design which includes 39,000 sq ft of sustainably planted resident-only gardens, offering quiet open spaces to relax in.

Roof terraces, green streetscapes and courtyards inspired by London’s historic garden squares create a private oasis for residents. Designed with biodiversity at the forefront, planting species have been handpicked to provide colour, scent and texture, as well as a diverse ecological habitat. In addition to creating a variety of ‘outdoor rooms’, herbaceous species and high-value pollinators such as lavender, thyme, geraniums, crab apples and wild garlic will provide pollen, nectar and fruits, to attract and provide year-round habitats for wildlife.

Apartment interiors have been created with warm timbers running throughout the design, and light flows through internal spaces to create an effortless “dialogue” between indoors and out.

The Herland Gardens building will feature an expansive entrance lobby linked to premium private amenities for residents spread over multiple levels, including beautifully designed areas to work, exercise, and unwind.

The residents’ lounge and the podium garden will provide a space in which to relax and socialise, while an extensive co-working hub, complete with Zoom rooms, meeting rooms, and networking spaces, will accommodate residents working from home. On the second floor residents will find a capacious fitness centre featuring a fully equipped gym alongside a wellness room and private studios.

For residents looking to relax, the facilities will resemble those of a London spa, encompassing a 19m swimming pool, a large jacuzzi, and a sauna and steam room. On-site parking will also be available for purchase to ensure the ultimate convenience.

Highly desirable location with great connectivity

Located in one of London’s most desirable postcodes, SW6, Hurlingham Waterfront’s off-site amenities will be among the best in the capital. Close to Chelsea’s King’s Road and the Saatchi Gallery, residents will be a stone’s throw from some impressive restaurants, bars and galleries. Even closer to home, residents will be able to step outside their apartments and enjoy the cafés and restaurants in abundance along the river.

Six railway and Tube stations are within close proximity to Hurlingham Waterfront, so residents will also enjoy easy connections to the West End, the City, and beyond. The development is also within a 30-minutes’ drive of Heathrow Airport, so the central location is perfect for frequent fliers.

The landmark development seeks to cater to young families. Situated within the borough Hammersmith & Fulham, Hurlingham Waterfront is within minutes of many of the UK’s highest-achieving schools and has one of the highest percentages of schools ranked by Ofsted as ‘Outstanding’ in the country. Hammersmith & Fulham is also one of London’s leafiest boroughs, with more than 230 hectares of parks and open spaces for families to enjoy.

Hurlingham has a rich sporting history – with the rules of polo being established in Hurlingham Park in 1875, and two Olympic Games for polo were hosted within the park. Indeed, many of the great houses surrounding the Park were owned by the polo patrons of the 1900s, including Lord Beaverbrook and the Maharaja of Jaipur. Today, Hurlingham Park still welcomes the best polo players from across the globe for the biggest three-day polo event in the world – Polo in the Park.

Lord Sebastian Coe also set his 800m record in the Park, when there was still a cinder track there, and the nearby Hurlingham Club itself has been a centre for sporting excellence for many years.

Hammersmith and Fulham Rugby Club is also based at Hurlingham Park, while the wider area is home to Fulham Football Club’s Craven Cottage, the oldest football stadium in London, and Chelsea FC is also close by.

Donal Mulryan, founder of Rockwell commented: “We are proud to have the opportunity to deliver a landmark development in such a sought after part of London, and look forward to providing a best-in-class, mixed-use residential development which will cement this area as one of the most desirable places to live in London.”

Hurlingham Waterfront comprises two residential blocks and 269 apartments. First completions are scheduled for Q3 2025, with prices starting from £595,000. Find out more at www.hurlinghamwaterfront.co.uk.
