Two Help To Buy Homes For Sale At East Yorkshire Site

Posted 20 November 2020 by Keith Osborne

There's one three-bedroom and one four-bedroom home still available under current Help to Buy rules at Swanland Heights...

Redrow has announced there are still two homes available at its Swanland Heights under the current Help to Buy scheme, which is open both to first-time buyers and those whose current home is sold subject to contract.

It means that a home can be secured with as little as a 5% deposit plus a 20% equity loan for the government that’s interest free for five years, requiring a 75% mortgage from a choice of lenders. The scheme is due to change next spring with regional price caps in place so opportunities to use this version of Help to Buy are diminishing.

In order to benefit from the existing scheme, the two homes at Swanland Heights, in the East Riding of Yorkshire village of Swanland, must be reserved by the end of November.

The first of Redrow’s two homes that can be bought with Help to Buy is a three-bedroom detached ‘Leamington Lifestyle’ that is priced at £395,950. This home is built on the footprint of a four-bedroom home, and offer buyers fewer but larger bedrooms, each with its own en suite bathroom. The main bedroom also has the luxury of its own walk-in wardrobe. The downstairs space includes a spacious kitchen, dining and family area overlooking the garden, plus a separate lounge, utility and cloakroom.

The second home is a four-bedroom detached ‘Canterbury’ priced at £424,950. This home has everything a modern family will need, including a large kitchen and dining area, a separate lounge plus a study and integral garage. It also comes with a handy downstairs cloakroom and utility room, plus en suite to the main bedroom.

Steve Jackson, sales director at Redrow Yorkshire said: “Saving for the deposit for a first home can seem like a huge task, as can having sufficient equity in an existing property or savings to make that all-important second step. The availability of Help to Buy then is a great opportunity for buyers to secure a ‘forever’ home in Swanland.

“Our development of two-, three- and four-bedroom homes is in a highly desirable location and these particular properties offer plenty of flexibility space-wise so they can be tailored to buyers’ changing needs.”

Swanland Heights is located on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds, two miles north of the River Humber and only seven miles from the city of Hull, making it a great location with plenty of unspoilt scenery nearby and close to market towns like Beverley, steeped in history.

Help to Buy is due to change in 2021. The current version, which is open to first-time buyers and movers, will end on 31 March 2021 and a new Help to Buy scheme for first-time buyers only will replace it from 1 April 2021. Buyers will still be able to borrow up to 20% of the cost of a new build home; however the amount that can be spent on the home will depend on where in England it is. Those using the current scheme will need to legally complete the process of buying a new home before the end of March.

Redrow has other three- and four-bedroom homes available from £314,950.
