No Appointment Needed At Housebuilder’s Sales Offices

From Monday 15 June, award-winning Redrow Homes is opening up its sales offices and show homes to house-hunters who don’t have to make an appointment.

It’s the next step back to ‘normal’ for those searching for a new home, who are currently obliged by most housebuilders to book an appointment to visit sites that are now open to house-hunters. While ‘virtual viewing’ has become an essential part of the homebuying journey for many, opening up the offices by appointment under strict guidelines has proved very popular.

Matt Grayson, group customer and marketing director at Redrow, explained: “Following the successful reopening of our sales centres and show homes to buyers and existing customers from 18 May in England, we have now moved into the second phase and taken the step of reopening to walk-in appointments from 15 June. This step offers further flexibility to buyers who already have access to our full suite of online services, as well as ‘by appointment’ viewings which continue to be preferred options.”

Redrow is still recommending booking an appointment in order to avoid any disappointment at not being able to enter the office if another customer is already there.

Grayson stated: “We have developed robust processes for customers wishing to visit us in person which include strict social distancing measures, rigorous cleaning regimes and a range of physical measures which are designed to reduce the spread of COVID-19.”

The company is implementing these rules to ensure safety to customers and staff:

  • If the customers doesn’t have an appointment they should call upon arrival and wait in the allocated place until one of the team is ready to welcome them in.
  • Once the sales consultant is available, they will open the door to let the customer in. The customer should allow them time to get to a two-metre distance before entering.
  • Before proceeding further with a sales consultant, they will ask a few simple questions to check neither they nor anyone else in their household is currently experiencing symptoms of COVID-19. They’ll then direct them to use the hands-free sanitiser station.
  • The customer will then be directed to a designated seating area within the sales centre where they can discuss their requirements from an appropriate distance.
  • The show homes remain open to visit and a member of the Redrow team will also be able to walk the customer through a range of information on-screen.
  • If the customer would like to view a show home that’s possible, but Redrow won’t be able to accompany them for this part of your visit. They will provide them with disposable gloves to wear, alongside a no-entry sign to hang on the door, so they can be sure that no-one else will enter a show home they are viewing.
