Launch Of Apartments In Colindale This Weekend

Posted 28 January 2021 by Keith Osborne

The new collection of homes, called Greenwich House, can be purchased with the popular London Help to Buy scheme...

Redrow is launching a new collection of studios and apartments at its flagship Colindale Gardens development in the north-west London Borough of Barnet on Saturday 30 January. They will all qualify for London Help to Buy.

Prices range from £357,500 to £575,000 for the new range of studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom properties in Greenwich House, which will be available to move in from Summer 2021. With London Help to Buy, purchasers only need a 5% deposit, with the government providing a 40% equity loan, which comes interest-free for the first five years. This leaves a mortgage of 55% required, which means that the homes could be purchased with a lower household income than might be expected.

Colindale Gardens is a new community being created on the site of the former Metropolitan Police training centre. A priority in the design of the development has been placed on creating a green and open environment. Every resident of Greenwich House will have access to private outdoor space in the form of a balcony or terrace, as well as access to a secluded podium garden and the central four-acre park.

Each new apartment offers an open-plan kitchen and living room, creating a practical and continuous space. The kitchens feature modern integrated Siemens appliances and smart soft-close cabinets, with the option of personalising kitchen colours. Our high-quality bathroom suites and soft lighting create a relaxing environment. Underfloor heating is provided throughout the new homes.

Residents of Colindale Gardens are not short of amenities, as once complete the development will offer nine acres of public open space, new shops, restaurants, and a new primary school. Homeowners will also have access to a private gym, with a sauna and steam room, as well as concierge service. Colindale Underground Station is also situated adjacent to the site, providing excellent connections into the West End and the City, with journey times of 22 minutes. The night tube, which currently runs via the Charing Cross branch of the Northern Line, provides 24-hour connections from Colindale to central London stations Tottenham Court Road, Embankment and Waterloo at the weekend.

Neil Bowron, sales director at Redrow Greater London, commented: “The Help to Buy scheme has been vital in enabling thousands of first-time buyers to purchase property in London. The availability of the scheme at Colindale Gardens has played a significant role in the popularity of the new homes so far and has created a vibrant new community of young professionals and families. We anticipate the new release of Help to Buy homes will prove very popular, so we advise potential buyers to call now to secure an appointment.

“Buying a home with green space is increasingly becoming a priority, and we are seeing many aspiring buyers come from inner London areas, in search of more open space which is on offer at Colindale Gardens.”
