Redrow is hosting a series of events at a number of developments which are intended to provide both energy efficiency information and financial advice to potential buyers.

Buyers will be able to understand the energy costs that could be saved with better Energy Performance Certificate ratings, and how the government’s sustainability and environmental targets will impact them as homeowners. An independent financial advisor will also be available to provide expert advice to new buyers. Visitors to the event will have the opportunity to hear about deposit contributions available on certain plots throughout January.

New research from Redrow reveals that three quarters (79%) of West Midlands adults admit living in an energy efficient home is more important to them now compared to a year ago. However, just under half (49%) believe that they are unable to make their current home more energy efficient. This might be the reason why 53% would prefer to move to a new build home due to the energy efficient features included.

James Holmear, director at Redrow, says: “Our research shows people are more eco-conscious than ever before and are looking at ways to be even more energy efficient, especially in relation to their properties. Our homes are designed to help people save money on household bills – with the average Redrow home being B-rated – saving homeowners an average of £2,600 a year on energy bills. Our sustainable options, such as eco waste bins, EV charging points, water butts and solar panels, have also increased in popularity. We suspect, with more people looking for ways to reduce their energy consumption, demand will continue to soar in 2023. We would like people to visit us, so we can provide a helping hand on the journey.”

  • Prospective buyers are invited to visit Amington Garden Village on Mercian Way in Tamworth, on Saturday 21 January at 10am – 5:30pm.
  • Prospective buyers are invited to visit Abbey Walk and Abbey Fields, on Castle Farm Way in Telford, on Saturday 14 at 10am – 5:30pm.
  • Prospective buyers are invited to visit Redrow at Houlton, on Link Road in Rugby, on either Saturday 14 or 21 January at 10am – 5:30pm.

Newer homes come with many energy-efficient amenities built in and are also covered by a 10-year warranty from the National House Building Council. Redrow’s properties use enhanced insulation, highly efficient doors, double-glazed windows and heating systems to reduce the home's energy use and retain heat. To find out more details, potential buyers can visit the sales centre throughout the week of 14 – 21 January to be provided with further advice on the Energy Performance Certificate rating.
