Shared Equity Offer At Aberdeenshire Development
Posted 26 October 2023 by
Keith OsborneHouse-hunters seeking a more affordable way of getting onto the property ladder in the growing Chapelton development in Aberdeenshire are being invited by developer Places for People to ask about a Shared Equity scheme there.
Customers now have the opportunity to own 100% of their home and pay less, thanks to this the Shared Equity initiative. The buyer funds between 60% and 80% of the price of the property, with Places for People Scotland and the Scottish government financing the remainder. This means that you could purchase a brand new three-bedroom home at Chapelton and save up to £500 per month on your monthly mortgage payment (terms and conditions apply).
Priority will be given to customers who cannot afford to buy on the open market.
‘The Dumbreck’, a former WhatHouse? Home of the Day, could be the perfect option for a first home and through Shared Equity, the purchaser can pay £150,000 (this is 60% of the open market value of £250,000, with the balance through the loan from the housebuilder). This is a three-bedroom semi-detached house type with an exterior design inspired by traditional style, but with a modern twist. Inside, the living room leads to an open-plan kitchen/dining room, which in turn leads to the utility room and cloakroom. French doors from the main room leads to the garden. Two of the bedrooms are doubles, one with en suite. A bathroom completes the first-floor layout. Find out more about ‘The Dumbreck’.
Chapelton is a growing new sustainable town situated between Aberdeen and Strathaven, with countryside and coast on the doorstep and just a few miles from a comprehensive range of shops and amenities. When completed, there will be around 8,000 new homes at Chapelton, as well as new local amenities and commercial areas which will be providing new job opportunities.
A new collection of three- and four-bedroom homes have recently been released and open market prices here currently start at £250,000. Find out more about Chapelton from Places for People.
