New Show Home Unveiled At Tornagrain
Posted 22 November 2021 by
Keith OsbornePlaces for People has unveiled its new four-bedroom detached show home at Tornagrain, the newest town in the Highlands and located only eight miles east of Inverness.
Visitors can explore the ‘Kerrowaid’, which is the first show home of its type in Scotland, and the marketing suite, which also has been transformed with a brand-new look.
The exclusive Tornagrain development will deliver a mix of apartments and two-, three-, four- and five-bedroom country homes for sale. All featuring timber sash windows, with a range of kitchens, floor and bathroom tiles to choose from.
The show home has been inspired by interior designer Kiran Bhatia from New i.d, to complement its location and showcasing a modern country look with a cosy feel and touches of colour throughout. Period features have been incorporated, including tapestry-inspired wallpaper and wood panelling; the overall look is modern and bold using a palette of colours including yellow, grey and pink all mixed with neutrals, brass and wood finishes. There is also a strong link to the local area – the sofa featured in the lounge has been handmade locally at Lochness Furniture in Nairn with various accessories sourced from local businesses.

This impressive double-fronted period-feature home offers the ‘wow factor’ as soon as you open the door to a bright and light hallway which leads to the spacious lounge with a feature wood-panelled wall, log-burner and French doors opening to the back garden.
One of the highlights of this home is the open-plan kitchen, dining and garden room, which spans the depth of the home. The kitchen is fitted to a high specification with a range of vibrant-coloured Shaker-style units, Silestone worktop and integrated appliances, and there is also the bonus of a separate utility room. The garden room offers the perfect space for flexible living – whether you are working from home, home-schooling or just looking for an area to relax. With French doors leading out of the kitchen, dining and garden room to the back garden, this hub of the home provides a perfect space for flexible living and entertaining.
The tapestry-inspired wallpaper can be found in the downstairs cloaks, while upstairs there are four elegantly designed bedrooms and family bathroom. The master bedroom has been designed with a period feature wallpaper, and comes with an en suite with vanity unit and walk-in shower.
Allison Sutherland, regional sales and marketing director for Places for People in Scotland, said: “It’s been an exciting time for the team to transform a second show home at Tornagrain, which delivers a fresh look and feel. The development and house types complement the local area and have taken its design influences from the Scottish vernacular. The homes benefit from the traditional Scottish period look with the use of heritage colours, iconic design door surround complemented by the wet dash render. There’s also traditional slated roof and sash and case windows to main elevations.
“The show home really does highlight the quality of homes that Places for People offers and we have been overwhelmed with the level of interest in Tornagrain, especially as the development offers a range of homes suitable for everyone. Our customers have already given us excellent feedback on both our show home and the development.”
One customer who recently visited the show home said: “The new show home is stunning with a very bold colour scheme which works so well in the style of house, together with the soft furnishings - the home is warm and welcoming. The high ceiling in the living room works so well with the wood panelling, which we loved and the choices of wallpaper throughout the home has given us inspiration for our new home at Tornagrain. We are so excited and can't wait to move into our new home.”
A range of apartments and homes have been released at Tornagrain to coincide with the launch of the latest show home, including homes available through the Shared Equity scheme.
