Choice Of Offers On New Homes In Coventry

House-hunters in Coventry who have made a New Year’s resolution to find their perfect new home in 2023 are being encouraged by Persimmon Homes to take a close look at its Whitmore Place development, where for a limited time there are special incentives that could save them thousands of pounds.

Located off Holbrook Lane, Whitmore Place is bringing a variety of two-bedroom apartments and two-, three- and four-bedroom houses to the popular residential area of Holbrooks. Only two-and-a-half miles north of Coventry city centre, the local area here has shops, facilities, green open spaces and a choice of schools nearby. The nearby A444 offers easy access to the likes of Nuneaton and Warwick and it’s under ten minutes to the M6.

Subject to terms and conditions, until 31 January 2023, buyers reserving a home at Whitmore Place can choose between having their mortgage paid for the first 10 months after moving in or using a 105% Part Exchange offer, meaning they will make a nice profit on the price thir current property is sold for.

Prices here start at £210,000 thanks to the availability of the government-backed First Homes scheme. This initiative means that those taking a first step on the homeownershp ladder can purchase a brand new home for much less than the market price. At Whitmore Place, there are a number of the ‘Grasmere’ house type that are on the market for £300,000 but with First Homes, the purchaser will pay £210,000. This 30% discount retains all the benefits of owning 100% of your home, so it is not like Shared Ownership or a ‘part buy-part rent’ scheme. In the case of First Homes, that discount remains with the home in perpetuity – so when the owner sells it later, they must sell for 70% of the market price to the next buyer. However, they’ll retain the profit from their 70% share. The ‘Grasmere’ is an attractive detached, three-bedroom/two-bathroom house with integral garage and open-plan kitchen/dining room.

For £230,000, there’s one example of the ‘Alnwick Special’ house type for sale, which might make an ideal first home. This has a ground floor layout with an open-plan kitchen/dining room which has French doors to the garden, together with a separate living room and two storage cupboards. Upstairs, the two comfortable double bedrooms are on either side of the bathroom. This home comes with private off-road parking.

There are a host of other three- and four-bedroom options but top-of-the-range right now is the ‘Hornsea’. This detached home has an integral single garage, a lounge which leads through double doors to kitchen/diner at the back – keep those open and downstairs has a very spacious open-plan feel. With French doors to the garden, there’s an opportunity to ‘bring the outside in’ on a warm, sunny day. A useful utility room and cloakroom complete the ground floor. Upstairs are the family bathroom and four bedrooms, one of which has an en suite. This house type is priced from £360,000.
