Housebuilder Launches Energy Bills Incentive

Posted 6 January 2023 by Helen Christie

Pennyfarthing Homes has launched an initiative that will save homebuyers over £20,000…

Pennyfarthing Homes is offering to pay its customers’ energy bills and council tax for three years on homes purchased between January and 31 March 2023.

Pennyfarthing Homes will pay the equivalent of £300 per calendar month in energy bills over three years, totalling £10,800. Furthermore, the housebuilder will also pay an amount equivalent to three years’ council tax for the home purchased – which has the potential to reach £9,438, based on a Band F home, which is the highest council tax band.

Considering the soaring price of energy, and that the EPG is set to finish in April 2024, this initiative from Pennyfarthing Homes is timely and is set to protect customers from increases in energy costs.

Matt Dukes, managing director at Pennyfarthing Homes, says: “It’s been a difficult year for so many people, and prospective homebuyers are, understandably, cautious about the housing market. Furthermore, the volatility with the energy markets looks like it is with us for the foreseeable future, which is also playing a big part in the confidence of our customers. We wanted to launch this generous scheme to provide reassurance to prospective homebuyers and to ensure their dreams of buying a new home can still be achieved, even in these turbulent times. We look forward to welcoming the first buyers to benefit from this initiative into their new homes.”

Pennyfarthing Homes has a range of homes suitable for anyone, from first-time buyers through to families and downsizers.
