Final Townhouses Set To Launch At Deptford Scheme

Peabody hosts an event on Saturday 4 February to give buyers an opportunity to discover the final townhouses at The Scene...

Peabody’s final three-bedroom townhouses at The Scene will be unveiled at an event on Saturday 4 February, where visitors can learn how they can save up to £30,000 on Stamp Duty.

The open-plan kitchen/living/dining area offers the ideal setting for entertaining guests on a Saturday night and relaxing with a cuppa on a Sunday morning. Contemporary kitchens are fitted with integrated Bosch appliances and are given a sleek finish with modern handle-less cabinets and recessed LED down lights. Bedrooms are given a cosy touch with soft carpeting, and main bedrooms benefit from fitted wardrobes. Luxurious bathrooms feature crisp white sanitaryware and heated towel rails, while en suites are complete with spacious, glass-screen showers. All properties benefit from underfloor heating throughout.

With the buzz of Goldsmiths University, a lively arts scene, and a strong sense of identity, Deptford was recently named as a potential new Hackney, and there are a multitude of cultures reflected in the diverse range of cuisine on offer here. Deptford Market Yard is home to an eclectic mix of boutiques, eateries, cafés and bars. Residents benefit from proximity to transport links, with New Cross station a two-minute walk from home, and London Bridge being one five-minute stop away, and green spaces, with nearby Greenwich Park offering panoramic views of the Thames and Canary Wharf.

Will and ChrisWill and Chris

Already taking full advantage of everything on offer at The Scene are Will and Chris, who moved from a tiny one-bedroom flat with no outside space in London Bridge to a spacious two-bedroom apartment with a balcony so their cats could have more room to explore. Will commented: “I had always wanted an apartment with a balcony, so we knew this would be perfect for us. Not only does it mean that our cats have more space to roam, but we have an amazing view too – we can see the whole city which is incredible, we can even see The Shard, where we used to live!”

He continued: “Our balcony has even helped us make friends with the neighbours! We have decorated it like a garden, with a table and chairs, and an outdoor rug which we like to fill with cushions and chill out on a sunny day. It’s such a nice community here; we have a WhatsApp group so that we can all get to know each other, and some of them have already been round here for dinner!”

A short walk away is the bustling Will reflected: “We’ve lived in both Elephant and Castle and London Bridge, and Deptford is the perfect mixture of the two. We’ve still got a lot to explore! The green feel to this development is a breath of fresh air. We love walking along the river to Greenwich, which takes about 15 minutes and is beautiful, especially on sunny evenings. It’s so easy to get into the City!”

Ivan and MikolajIvan and Mikolaj

At the top of the checklist for fellow The Scene residents’ Ivan and Mikolaj, was finding somewhere they would be able to enjoy life with their new puppy Griffin. Ivan commented: “We had always planned to get a puppy, so we knew that our new home would have to be big enough to accommodate this, and have plenty of local places to take him for walks. Luckily, Deptford has so many lovely places for walking. Our favourite place to go is Deptford Park which is a huge space where Griffin can run around, just a 15 minute walk away, and there’s also a small doggy park locally which is ideal for puppies. If we want to take him on a shorter walk in the evenings, we either walk him around the development which has its own green space, or there’s a number of smaller open spaces within a short distance from our home.”

“We have completely fallen in love with our new neighbourhood. As well as the numerous parks surrounding the development, we have some really lovely pubs and restaurants close by too. The transport links are incredible – I can get to my office on Blackfriars Road in 15 minutes from Deptford Station, and from New Cross station we can get to London Bridge in under five minutes!”

Three-bedroom townhouses are available from £857,500 at The Scene, and buyers can save up to £30,000 on Stamp Duty (terms and conditions apply). Find out more at www.TheScene-SE14.co.uk.
