Award-Winning Developer Launches Digital Immersive Experience For House-Hunters

Posted 17 January 2024 by Keith Osborne

Property-seekers can now enjoy a pioneering new immersive digital visual experience in Mount Anvil's Extended Reality Studio...

Mount Anvil, a multiple winner of prestigious WhatHouse? Awards, has launched a pioneering new immersive digital visual system to provide property-seekers a unique way of investigating its new homes developments.

The Extended Reality Studio is in Mount Anvil’s Barbican office and has been set up as an alternative to a traditional on-site show home.

The state-of-the-art technology – never before used in the housebuilding sector – uses robotic cameras and projection mapping technology to help house-hunters visualise a new place in a very immersive way. Using simple controls on an iPad, they can walk around the CGI show home and see the view from the balcony, or experience the location and whole development layout via a multidirectional drone camera.

Mount Anvil won its latest WhatHouse? Award last year in the Best Apartment Scheme category for The Silk District, a collection of studios and apartments in high- and low-rise contemporary-designed blocks in Whitechapel. We recently visited one of the company’s latest developments, Queen’s Cross in the Royal Docks, where a show home has been designed on-site, but Mount Anvil is taking a different approach to its other current and future developments.

The Mount Anvil HQ on Aldersgate combines working office space with the Extended Reality Studio, a ‘living room’ illustrating the company’s general design philosophy, and a number of rooms that are each dedicated to one development, to give visitors a first-hand look at the design and specification offered at that site, such as kitchen and bathroom fixtures and fittings, tiling and door furnishings.

Currently, the rooms represent these developments:

  • The Verdean, a joint venture with Peabody in Acton, offering studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments across a site of over six acres. Mount Anvil has partnered with Royal Botanic Gardens, who have helped design the landscaped courtyards, and with Peloton in creating the residents-only gym and spin studio. There’s a 24-hour concierge, screening room an entertainment space, business lounge and secure bicycle storage.
  • The Bellamy on the Isle of Dogs, on the doorstep of Canary Wharf. Set to complete in 2026, the first release of apartments here sold out within a week but there’s availability on the latest release starting from £477,000. Among the features here are a concierge service, podium garden, Peloton Hub, and working lounge.
  • One Clapham in Battersea, just a minute from Clapham Junction station and the many shops, bars and entertainment venues the area is famous for. There are some exceptional views from private balconies, and some new landscaped public spaces and pedestrian streets to enjoy. Residents of these one- and two-bedroom apartments have a 24-hour concierge service, Peloton Hub, café/bakery, garden and play space, and secure cycle storage.
  • Chelsea Botanica, recently sold out, a 133-apartment scheme launched in May 2022 which has landscaped gardens designed by Royal Botanic Kew, a lounge, co-working area and fitness facility.

House-hunters will be able to try the Extended Reality Studio experience at the London New Home Show, taking place at the Business Design Centre in Islington on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 January 2024, where Mount Anvil’s expert team can tell you about the latest developments and show you the very latest way to explore them.
