Name Of Upcoming Lichfield Retirement Development Announced

Posted 21 September 2021 by Keith Osborne

McCarthy Stone has named its latest Staffordshire over-70s development, which will be ready to move into next summer...

McCarthy Stone, the UK’s leading developer and manager of retirement communities, has revealed its new Retirement Living Plus development, on Rotten Row in Lichfield, has been named Stowe Place.

Stowe Place takes its name from the local reservoir, Stowe Pool, a former fishery which was turned into a reservoir in 1856 by South Staffordshire Waterworks Co and remains a popular local attraction, favoured for its idyllic surroundings and spectacular views of Lichfield Cathedral.

Cheryl Bissett, divisional sales and marketing director for McCarthy Stone, said: “Our new development has been carefully designed to reflect and complement the rich history and beautiful, traditional architecture of the stunning surrounding area. With this in mind, it was important to find a name which we felt embodied this and Stowe Pool, being not just an area of remarkable beautiful but so highly regarded in the community, was an obvious fit. We look forward to welcoming everyone to see Stowe Place for themselves next year.”

Once complete, Stowe Place will comprise a selection of 65 one- and two-bedroom retirement apartments to provide everything the over-70s could want for an enjoyable and independent retirement. The development will feature a homeowners’ lounge – perfect for getting to know new neighbours – as well as trendy bistro. Alongside beautiful gardens carefully designed to ensure the perfect outdoor living space, there will even be a guest suite for when family and friends come to stay.

The apartments will be available to buy off-plan in January 2022 and first occupants are expected in July 2022.

Located within the heart of Lichfield’s bustling city centre, Stowe Place has been designed to offer a striking balance between modern day needs and the tranquillity afforded by rural living. Along the city’s historic streets, a wide selection of high street shops and independent boutiques offer the perfect spot for some retail therapy, while a pharmacy, optician, medical practice and dentist are just a stone’s throw away. For something a bit different, Lichfield’s iconic cathedral is a must-see while a vast array of green spaces, including the popular Beacon Park, offer natural beauty.
