McCarthy Stone is inviting people interested in retirement living to come and meet residents at some special events...

Senior house-hunters in the North East are being invited to join retirement community residents for a summer get-together this month.

McCarthy Stone developments in Sunderland, South Shields and Darlington will be opening their doors to invite people to come together and raise a glass to better times ahead.

Visitors will be able to join in at their nearest development, with drinks and nibbles, in the attractive communal spaces, as well as the opportunity to meet the McCarthy Stone team where they can find out more about the apartments and the lifestyle on offer.

Guests are welcome to bring along a family member or friends, but it is essential they book their place ahead to ensure social distancing. The events will be organised in compliance with the latest government guidance, with all necessary hygiene and safety measure in place.

The dates and times of the events are:

  • Herriot Gardens, Friday 2 July between 1.00pm and 3.00pm, located on Gray Road, Sunderland, Tyne & Wear, SR2 8HY
  • Seymour Court, Tuesday 29 June between 1.00pm and 3.00pm, Ambleside Avenue, South Shields, Tyne & Wear, NE34 0DQ
  • Swinden Court, Saturday 3 July between 1.00pm and 3.00pm, Trinity Road, Darlington, County Durham, DL3 7BF

Fiona Brooks, divisional sales and marketing director, said: “Traditionally our summer parties are a great opportunity for local people to come and experience first-hand the fun and sociable lifestyle that comes as part of a brand-new McCarthy Stone apartment.

“This year of course things are a little different, but we are thrilled to be able to once again open up our developments to visitors, in a safe and controlled way. The pandemic has led to a shift in focus for many people, with time to reflect on the suitability of their housing needs, location and priorities for retirement. The McCarthy Stone lifestyle is all about living life to the full, and staying as independent and active for as long as possible. Come along to your nearest development for a chat and a slice of cake, and to meet those who already call it, home. After all, they’ll tell you everything you could need to know!”

Refreshments will be provided at each, and there will be plenty of places to sit and relax as well as organised tours of the show apartments to join in with. There will also be a raffle to win a Fortnum & Mason hamper worth £100 (subject to terms and conditions).

For buyers aged over 60, McCarthy Stone developments in the North East all provide a choice of luxury apartments, situated close to local amenities and transport links, with a spacious communal lounge if you feel like spending time with your new neighbours, and a hotel-style guest suite for when you have visitors to stay. All the outdoor maintenance is taken care of for you, and a on-site management team helps to keep everything running smoothly.

Flexible rental options are also available on selected apartments.
