Retirees In Ripon Celebrate First Birthday

A group of retirees in Ripon got together last week to celebrate their first birthday, marking 12 months since they moved into Dawson Grange, a McCarthy Stone Retirement Living complex on North Street.

One of the first social events at Dawson Grange in many months, the party was called to mark the beginning of ‘better times ahead’ for all the homeowners that now live there. Prosecco was not in short supply and there was plenty of birthday cake to go around as its residents joined together to say a special thanks to all those in their new community who supported one another through the hard times.

Exclusively for the over-60s, Dawson Grange is a vibrant development, featuring a collection of low- maintenance, privately owned apartments. Homeowners can make the most of their independence while also having the peace of mind that comes with being surrounded by like-minded individuals.

Fiona Brooks, sales and marketing director for McCarthy Stone, said: “It was a lovely occasion for the all the homeowners and McCarthy Stone staff at Dawson Grange, to be able to celebrate the development officially opening its doors 12 months ago.

“After the challenges everyone has faced over the last year or so, it was great for homeowners to come together once again, making up for lost time in enjoying the community atmosphere here at Dawson Grange. For many the pandemic was a trigger for wanting to move home where theirs simply wasn’t suitable for their needs. Everything was done to try and make moving home during a pandemic as easy as possible, and we are so glad that so many of them have been able to start a new chapter of their lives and to do so safely and securely, and knowing support is on hand.”

For retirees in and around the Ripon area who are looking downsize, prices for the two-bedroom apartments at Dawson Grange currently start from £299,999. Rental and part buy-part rent options are also available to make moving even easier.
