WhatHouse? Award-winner McCarthy Stone, a leading developer and manager of retirement communities, has reported overwhelming levels of interest in its new Strawberry Hill Gardens development in the village of Eaton, near Norwich, following a recent special event that saw over 300 attendees.

The Discovery Day event was held at the Dunston Hall Hotel on Ipswich Road, saw the company showcase the unique brand of retirement living which will be on offer at Strawberry Hill Gardens, where construction work continues at pace. Visitors took the opportunity to view a presentation with CGI images of the 36 purpose-built one-, two- and three-bedroom retirement properties, all with private gardens, being created there. There was also the chance to pose questions to the McCarthy Stone team and discuss moving and purchase options.

Located is a rural spot, the development will feature a combination of bungalows, cottages and coach houses conveniently near to a Waitrose supermarket, pubs, shops, and leisure facilities, with the Norfolk countryside easily reached too. The first occupants will move in from the summer of next year.

David Meachem, divisional sales director at McCarthy Stone, explained: “Our Discovery Days are always a great way to showcase our developments, as they take shape, to potential homeowners, and this event was no exception, in fact it was one of our most successful Discovery Days in the region to date. There was a brilliant atmosphere and interest in the development was extremely high. We would invite anyone else looking to find out more about Strawberry Hill Gardens to make contact as soon as they can to find out more.”

All properties will contain high-specification kitchens and bathrooms, alongside well-proportioned living spaces. Some will also boast a garage. A pavilion will form the hub of the development, providing a place for residents to make new friends and take part in regular events.
