Brewood Development Catering For ‘Multi-Generational Living’
Lovell Homes has launched its latest Midlands development, named Somerford Park – located off Engleton Lane, Brewood – creating a collection of two-, three- and four-bedroom homes that have been designed with a variety of family living arrangements in mind, including a brand new house type that is unique to the scheme.
Home design has taken inspiration from the surrounding area, incorporating elements from Georgian, Victorian and Tudor architecture. The four-bedroom ‘Windsor’ – unique to Somerford Park – includes a double garage and an annex with its own bathroom, making it suitable for families with members who would need a separate, more independent living area or an ideal home office space. Similarly, the three-bedroom ‘Newbury’ is a dormer bungalow, which features one bedroom and a bathroom to the ground floor along with all the usual ground floor living spaces, plus a further two bedrooms and a family bathroom to the first floor.
Stuart Penn, regional managing director for Lovell, said: “We know that every family unit is different, and it’s important that housing provision reflects that too. Somerford Park’s homes have been designed with this in mind, and we’re really pleased to be bringing forward a brand-new house type with an over-garage annex – the ‘Windsor’ – to help support different living arrangements. This annex space is ideal for families with older children or grandparents who need their own independent space within the home, or for those who wish to provide a more separate area for guests when they come to stay.
“Brewood is very close to Cannock Chase Forest and Chasewater Country Park, so residents will be a stone’s throw away from beautiful countryside space for walks, cycling and outdoor activities for the whole family. It also boasts excellent transport links, affording quick and easy access to several motorway routes connecting it to the wider Midlands and beyond. Plus, with several shopping centres less than ten miles away, and a number of retail parks located on the edge of the town, residents will find themselves spoiled for choice when it comes to shopping.”
The brand-new development brings 43 homes for open market sale, as well as a further 30 homes for Shared Ownership, and incorporates green community spaces. The homes also all include integrated appliances, contemporary finishes, French doors leading onto the garden, open-plan spaces, and a cloakroom to the ground floor.
To officially launch the new development, Lovell Homes gave exclusive access to YouTube stars Elliot and Matt, who toured both the ‘Windsor’ and ‘Newbury’ house types – both videos are available to view on-demand here.
Andy Richardson, director at interior designers Edward Thomas Interiors, who designed the scheme’s show homes, said: “We deliberately designed the ‘Windsor’ and the ‘Newbury’ to be contrasting and to appeal to a broad cross-section of house hunters. The three-bedroom ‘Newbury’ has a young, punchy décor with terracotta and teal colours – it’s styled to be achievably aspirational!
“We used bold, vibrant paint colours for the walls, upcycled some old vases to make quirky plant pots for the dining room table and added plenty of house plants to bring the outdoors in. The master and guest bedrooms have a modern, hotel feel, while the child’s room has a custom-made storage bench to match the table and chair set that we’ve styled as a reading and learning area.
“In contrast, the four-bedroom ‘Windsor’ is more opulent and glamourous. Featuring a charcoal base colour with accents of mustard and brushed gold, this home makes an impact. Classic wooden furniture is used throughout the rooms but given a modern twist by adding both striking light fittings and memorable wallpaper – look out for the Mulberry-inspired design in the kitchen/diner and the metallic tulips in the cloakroom! Designed with a busy family in mind, each of the three guest bedrooms has a home working or schooling station, in addition to the separate downstairs study.”
Interest in Somerford Park has already been strong thanks to its desirable Staffordshire location and excellent transport links, providing access to major transport links such as the M6, M54 and M6 Toll. Current released homes start from £255,600 for two-bedroom properties, from £324,950 for three-bedroom properties, and from £412,950 for four-bedroom properties.
Site visits and show home tours must be booked in advance with visitors adhering to COVID-19 guidelines, including the use of face masks, limited numbers, and social distancing. Find out more about Somergord Park from Lovell Homes.
