Keith OsborneInland Homes is unveiling an eagerly anticipated collection of converted apartments and very first show home at Uxbridge’s iconic department store, Randalls on the weekend of Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 January.
The launch weekend showcasing a mixture of 14 converted and newly built apartments, both within the original building and a newly extended second floor for the very first time. The bespoke selection of studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments have a contemporary open-plan design, with a number of extra features adding to the luxury of the homes. Underfloor heating is provided throughout each property, whilst kitchens will include a variety of top of the range appliances, including a 70/30 fridge/freezer and dishwasher. Bathrooms boast contemporary white sanitaryware with chrome accessories and a panelled bath with thermostatic bath tap and full height shower.
Uniquely designed and set within bold and striking architecture, the apartments at Randalls offer residents the chance to live in an individual home in the original department store building. Keen to restore it to its former glory, Inland Homes has kept several original elements that respectfully pay homage to the history of the building. Original features include both the cash desk and signage, as well as the pneumatic tube system, cast iron radiators and the structural columns. The weekend will also see the launch of three exclusive new duplexes in the restored Old Fire Station building.
The two-bedroom show home has been designed by award-winning Phoenix Interior Designers, whose founder, Susan White, commented: “Randalls of Uxbridge is a Grade II listed heritage building that was built in 1938. We kept the iconic Art Deco facade of the previous department store in mind when tasked with styling the new show apartment. The interior has been dressed with a contemporary style, with the space expressing unique character, bold art pieces, and features to love.”
“The show apartment embodies the fun, quirky, contemporary and bold style of the Art Deco era. The colour palette of the apartment was inspired by inky blues and oches as they pair beautifully with fun, edgy colours which was what we were after. We also believe in bringing sustainability and biophilic design into the home, which is why we included multiple floor plants, and natural materials. The hallway is painted in a soft inky blue shade to tie the home together and draw attention to the famous artists' art prints that will feature along the wall. In the living room, we selected a combination of furniture pieces with greys and whites, complemented by colourful cushions.”
The three duplexes available in Old Fire Brigade House will enjoy luxury spread across two floors. The ground floor of each property will be dedicated to the master bedroom – of which one boasts a walk-in-wardrobe – in addition to a bathroom. Upstairs is the open-plan living/kitchen area, with Apartments 31 and 33 having an additional bedroom too.
Joining the distinctive design and original architecture comes the convenience of being located just moments away from the centre of Uxbridge town. Randalls residents will have access to a thriving high street, with two shopping centres and plenty of leisure facilities such as an Odeon cinema, and a selection of much-loved restaurants, including Wagamama’s and Prezzo. With fantastic transport links also readily available with services along the Metropolitan and Piccadilly lines accessible from Uxbridge tube station, commuters are also extremely well connected by being only a four-minute walk from the station.
With such impressive design both inside and out, the development has already accumulated plenty of interest. Prices start from £320,000 in Gatsby House and £435,000 in the Old Fire Brigade House. Find out more at www.inlandhomes.co.uk.
