On Saturday 9 October, Home Reach is hosting an Open Day event for potential buyers at the Dover Court development in Southall, west London.
Between 10.00am and 2.00pm, house-hunters are invited to take a first-hand look at the site and the choice of one- and two-bedroom apartments available with the Home Reach scheme. As a bonus, there’s the offer of two years’ free at parking the Featherstone Car Park opposite the building.
Home Reach is a partnership between housing provider heylo and a number of housebuilders across England which gives first-time buyers who meet the eligibility criteria a way of purchasing a share of a new build home (usually starting at 50%) and paying a subsidised rent on the remainder, with heylo as the landlord. It is offered on selected plots at a development and provides all the benefits of homeownership but requires a much smaller deposit (5% of the share price) and smaller mortgage than purchasing outright. Over time, owners can buy further shares as their budget allows, until they own 100%.
One example of what is for sale with Home Reach at Dover Court is a one-bedroom apartment which has an open-plan kitchen/dining/living room with doors to the private terrace. The bedroom is a double located opposite the bathroom, and there is also a useful walk-in cupboard off the hallway. This is on the market for £150,000 for a 50% share (full market value £300,000).
There’s also a spacious two-bedroom alternative. This has the benefit of an additional single bedroom which could equally be used at a home office of hobby room. This is priced at £182,500 for a 50% share (full market price £365,000).
