Current Home Reach Properties In Gloucestershire

For house-hunters on a modest budget looking for a brand new home in Gloucestershire, there’s a chance to ‘part buy-part rent’ at developments across the county thanks to Home Reach.

For buyers who meet the eligibility criteria, Home Reach is an opportunity to purchase a share of a new build home (usually starting at 50%) and pay a subsidised rent on the remainder, with housing provider heylo as the landlord. The scheme is offered on selected plots at developments across England and provides all the benefits of homeownership but requires a much smaller deposit (5% of the share price) and a smaller mortgage than when purchasing outright. Over time, owners can buy further shares as their budget allows, until they own 100%.

Here are a few examples of brand new properties available through Home Reach in Gloucestershire.

Great Oldbury, a growing community with its own local centre, a purpose-built nursery, pre-school and Primary Academy. It’s just a five-minute drive from Stonehouse and five miles from Stroud. For buyers wanting lots of flexible living space, the three-storey ‘Aslin’ could be ideal. This has the kitchen/dining room and living room on the ground floor, three bedrooms and a family bathroom on the first floor and an en suite bedroom on the top floor. It is priced at £123,220 for a 40% share, based on a full market value from £308,050, and would require a minimum of 5% deposit from £6,161. Alternatively, the three-bedroom ‘Beckett II’ is £180,000 for a 50% share (full market value £360, minimum deposit required £9,000.

Millfields is in the village of Cam, at the foot of the Cotswold hills. With some good shops and amenities of its own, it’s just a few minutes’ drive to the A38 and M5, for connection to a host of towns and cities. The ’Hazel’ house type is priced from £162,500 for a 50% share of the full market value of £325,000. It has three bedrooms (one with en suite), kitchen/diner and separate sitting room.

The ‘Leverton’‘Leverton’ house type

Saxon Gate is in Wickwar, which offers lovely surrounding countryside, some high-quality local schools, and proximity to Chipping Sodbury, Charfield and major roads to more distant locations. The ‘Leverton’ is a four-bedroom family home available through Home Reach. A 50% share starts at £260,250 (full market value from £520,500, minimum 5% deposit required from £13,013). Downstairs, this detached property has a kitchen/dining room, separate living room, a dedicated study, while upstairs three of the bedrooms are doubles, and the layour I completed by a family bathroom.

Green Oaks is a collection of homes in Quedgeley, on the outskirts of Gloucester. The neighbourhood has a number of big-name and independent stores and served by the A38 and M5, both just a short drive away. The ‘Ashbee’ coach house makes an ideal first home for a young professional or couple. Set above a car port, it has two bedrooms, with an en suite to one of them, a bathroom and an open-plan kitchen/living/dining room with Juliet balcony. A 50% share is from £117,500 (full market value from £235,000) and would require a minimum of 5% deposit from £5,875.

‘Eveleigh’ ‘Eveleigh’ house type

Close by this development is another, called Oaklands, which also provides the people who live there with some good shops and schools nearby and the easy drive to larger towns and cities. The ‘Eveleigh’ could be perfect for a young family. This three-bedroom semi-detached house has a living from with French door to the garden, a separate kitchen/dining room. Cloakroom and understairs storage, two double bedrooms (en suite to one of them), a single bedroom and a bathroom. Prices start from £152,500 for a 50% share (full market value from £305,000), which requires a minimum of 5% deposit from £7,625.

Ashchurch is just east of Tewkesbury and it’s where the Barleyfields development is taking shape. Just two miles from the town centre and only a few minutes’ drive from the M5 and A46, this is a collection of three-, four- and five-bedroom homes. Available through Home Reach is the ‘Walton’ which has a living room at the front, kitchen/diner at the rear, three double bedrooms, an en suite to bedroom one, and a family bathroom. A 50% share starts at £182,063 based on a full market value from £364,126, which will need a minimum of 5% deposit from £9,103.
