Help to Buy Available In Hanslope And Woburn Sands

Posted 30 June 2022 by Keith Osborne

Help to Buy is available on selected two- and three-bedroom homes at two current developments in Buckinghamshire...

Current WhatHouse? Housebuilder of the Year Hayfield has Buckinghamshire homes available for first-time buyers to purchase via the Help to Buy: Equity Loan initiative.

The government-backed scheme, which requires just a 5% deposit and provides a 20% equity loan which is interest free for the first five years, closes for applications on 31 October 2022 and right now it is available on selected two- and three-bedroom homes at Hayfield Walk in Hanslope, and at Hayfield Oaks in Woburn Sands.

Featuring 101 zero carbon-ready homes, Hayfield Walk in the picturesque village of Hanslope is over 60% sold, with the first residents now moved in. A three-bedroom ‘Thornton’ home type priced at £415,000 is nearing completion and falls within the government’s Buckinghamshire price cap for Help to Buy.

The highly prestigious Hayfield Oaks development in Woburn Sands is in the final phase of construction. A two-bedroom ‘Lulsley’ home is priced at £395,000 and is currently available via Help to Buy.

Shelley West, regional sales director for Hayfield, said: “The government’s Help to Buy initiative means that first-time buyers only need to secure a mortgage for 75% of the asking price. This initiative ensures that our smaller house designs are within reach of more buyers. However, with so few homes eligible before Help to Buy closes, we are encouraging vying first-time buyers to make contact with us as soon as possible.”

David Spencer, new build mortgage specialist at Just Mortgages, said: “We need to get the message out there that Help to Buy is still available for first-time buyers and that the price cap for this area offers the opportunity to secure a beautiful new home. The Buckinghamshire Help to Buy price cap is £437,600, while in the neighbouring county of Northamptonshire, the price cap is only £261,900.

“A handful of the top lenders are currently offering favourable rates for Help to Buy purchasers. Given the advantages of only needing to put down as little as a 5% deposit, this is a much more affordable option than buying a home on the second-hand market, as the deposit requirements are much higher.

“I deal with a lot of Help to Buy applications and would like to reassure those who may be interested that the timescales are also very reasonable. What’s more, the Hayfield team and I will help you every step of the way.”

Hayfield Walk has a show home open daily, which has been styled to articulate the versatility of Hayfield’s home designs. Multiple spaces to work, unwind and entertain feature throughout. A large interactive model of the scheme also enables interested parties to take a closer look at the site layout and various homes on offer.

The Hayfield Walk show home is open seven days a week from 10.00am until 5.00pm. Find out more about Hayfield Walk and Hayfield Oaks.
