Harron Homes has recently opened the doors to two show homes at Riverdale Park, its newest development in Doncaster.

Charlotte Darby, client account manager at Show Business Interiors who worked with Harron on the designs, reveals the key to achieving that luxury feel in the Shelford and Morton, both impressive four-bedroom detached homes: “The two homes have very different aesthetics, but both focus on creating harmonious and balanced spaces for that elevated look, guided by the aim of achieving two contrasting homes with distinct atmospheres. We’re firm believers that family homes can both be practical and aesthetically pleasing so we emphasise comfort, personal interests, and practicality in the design elements.”

While the Shelford embodies an executive and luxurious feel with a dark moody aesthetic, Morton embraces warmth, pops of colour, and a more inviting ambience, encompassing that aspirational feel for different demographics.

“The Shelford is characterised by a dark, moody ambience with a modern and calm aesthetic. The use of dark colours and neutral tones create a sense of sophistication and elegance, reflecting current trends that emphasise a more subdued colour palette and a sleek, contemporary design approach.”

These sophisticated elements can be found throughout the house, tying the look together.

“Throughout the home there is a strong appreciation for art, with abstract artwork displayed as a focal point. Statement wallpapers serve as conversation starters for visitors and contribute to the overall aesthetic appeal. In contrast, the bedrooms, particularly the master bedroom, play as a sanctuary of solitude, providing a luxurious escape from everyday life. It is intended to be a space where the family can enjoy the finer things and indulge in relaxation and comfort.

“In terms of entertaining, the dining area is an elegant space for hosting small get-togethers. The hanging wine glass stand within the mirror adds an additional touch of sophistication and convenience.”

Charlotte explains that it’s not just the colour palette that can bring a luxurious element to the home.

“The key with colour is consistency – if you pay attention, you'll see that the same colours are used not only on the walls but also in smaller elements like the bedding. This synchronicity gives a cohesive feel throughout the house. Additionally, the incorporation of half-painted walls extended headboards, and statement light fixtures further highlight the innovative design choices made in these spaces and how they elevate the overall look and feel of each room.

“The design of the Morton revolves around warmth and richness, incorporating light ivories and deep berry shades to create a cosy and inviting atmosphere. Rather than the statement patterns of the Shelford, here we used boucle textiles, known for their softness and tactile appeal, to enhance comfort and add a touch of luxury. Natural organic accents and textures play a significant role in the design, bringing a sense of nature indoors. This reflects the current trend for spaces that evoke comfort, relaxation, and a connection to nature.

“Texture can also be seen in the popular panelling trend, and these show homes skilfully demonstrate the versatility of this trend, not only on the walls but also on the ceilings. From wainscoting to wallpapered panels, both showhomes showcase the creative use of panelling to enhance the overall design.”

Natalie Griffiths, sales and marketing director for Harron Homes North Midlands, adds: “It’s wonderful to see how the details come together to create the show home “wow factor” we hope will allow visitors to envision the lifestyle they desire at Riverdale Park. I’d encourage anyone interested in moving to the area to visit our sales team and find out how they can make your dream home a reality.”
