Generator Group is holding an open weekend to launch a professionally decorated and fitted example of its new house type ‘The Tennyson’ at Laureate Fields in Old Felixstowe on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 November, between 10.00am and 5.00pm.

The show house has been curated by Dial Furnishings and those that reserve a ‘Tennyson’ during the launch weekend will receive a furniture package worth £10,000 (terms and conditions apply). An interiors consultant from Dial will be present on the day to talk you through your options or alternatively, those that already have furniture can choose to put their £10,000 towards a flooring and landscaping package instead.

Customers attending the event will also be able to consult a specialist new homes mortgage adviser on the best deals and calculate how much they can borrow.

Commenting, Ellie Miners, sales and marketing manager at Generator Group, said: “We look forward to welcoming buyers through the doors and showing them our exclusive ‘Tennyson’ collection. We’re offering incentives worth £10,000 for those that reserve on the day as well as supplying delicious cakes from Cake Away, so please get in touch to book your place to avoid disappointment.”

Mark La Cock from Aspire Mortgages said: “Whether you’re looking for a new mortgage or to port an existing one, our live system enables us to check your current rate against the latest deals and assess any early exit penalties.

“Rates have gone down tremendously and it’s a great time to lock in cheap deals. 90% LTV mortgages have returned with rates falling by as much as 1.5% since the first lockdown; whilst the market for low LTV mortgages has been extremely competitive as lenders fight for business. We’ve seen 75% LTV two-year fixes at 0.89% and five-year fixes at just 1.17%. Some customers might be better off swallowing penalty fees and choosing a new product.”

Jai Desai, interiors consultant at Dial Furnishings, said: “Buyers will have £10,000 to spend on a range of furniture carefully selected for our ‘Tennyson’ catalogue; or they can put that money towards a full interior design service and have pieces custom made. We designed the show house to serve as a show room for our furniture, so buyers will be able to see what they’re getting in the flesh and try it out. We hope they like it as much as we do.”

‘The Tennyson’ at Laureate FieldsPriced at £750,000, ‘The Tennyson’ is Laureate Fields’ largest, most exclusive house type at 1,959 sq ft. Offering generous room proportions with a master suite and three further double bedrooms, it also features a second living room on the first floor with a full-width balcony to maximise views onto the Bawdsey Estuary.

The contemporary German-engineered kitchens benefit from a premium specification including Silestone composite stone worktops and integrated appliances such as an induction hob, double oven, multi-function dishwasher and wine cooler. High-quality fixtures and fittings include engineered oak timber floors across the kitchen/dining spaces and entrance hallways, oak veneered doors with chrome handles, and brushed steel sockets and light switches. Bathrooms are finished with wood-effect Amtico floors, ceramic sanitaryware, steel baths and rain showers. The properties also have spacious gardens and a large garage with private driveways.

Laureate Fields is situated next to an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty that stretches north from the sea along the banks of the River Deben. From your door, you can enjoy picturesque country rambles or take a leisurely walk to Felixstowe Ferry, with its clapboard cottages, houseboats and ancient fishermen’s inn.

There is lots to see and do in Felixstowe from restaurants and pubs to leisure activities that make use of the seaside setting. Nearby is Felixstowe Ferry Golf Club, the only links golf course in Suffolk, while Felixstowe Ferry Sailing Club offers casual and competitive sailing, windsurfing and kitesurfing. Felixstowe’s Spa Pavilion has a year-round programme of shows including live music, children’s shows, festive panto and comedy. Felixstowe Pier has recently undergone an extensive reconstruction, offering a selection of traditional seaside entertainments including an arcade, slot machines, penny falls and retro mini-bowling alongside a café and bar.

Famous beauty spots and heritage sites such as Walberswick, Orford and Dunwich are also within easy reach, and there are good rail and road links to Ipswich, Colchester, Cambridge and London.
