Second Phase Of Houses Launched In Orpington

Fernham Homes has launched its second phase of houses at Lockesley Chase in Orpington...

Fernham Homes has launched 12 three- and four-bedroom homes as its second phase of houses at Lockesley Chase in Orpington, after the first phase sold out in less than six months.

Most of the homes available in the second phase can also be purchased using the government’s London Help to Buy Equity Loan, allowing buyers to purchase their new home with just a 5% deposit.

Lynne Smith, sales and marketing director at Fernham Homes, commented: “Saving for a deposit and then Stamp Duty costs are the biggest barriers for people getting on to the property ladder so this Stamp Duty holiday will aid so many people’s plans to buying their own home. With the latest collection of homes at Lockesley Chase expected to be complete by spring 2021, interested buyers should enquire quickly as I have no doubt that this second phase will be popular, particularly now with the Stamp Duty savings and pent-up demand from the spring housing market delays.

“The world has undoubtedly changed over the last few months since we launched our first phase at Lockesley, and we have definitely noticed a shift in the priorities of prospective homebuyers. The second phase of homes will be different to the first, in that, wherever possible, we have included a study or alternative workspace in our house designs, so that working from home can become a standard option for purchasers. All of the homes at Lockesley Chase also offer generous private gardens, which we know have definitely risen to the top of many new homeowners’ lists.”

Situated in the London Borough of Bromley, Lockesley Chase is about a 15-minute walk away from St Mary Cray railway station, from where you can reach London Bridge in just over 20 minutes, while the massive shopping destination of Bluewater is only 25 minutes away by car. Orpington itself has a vibrant High Street, a new cinema complex and gym. Nugent Shopping Park, five minutes’ drive away, includes some big brands such as Marks & Spencer, Waterstones and Pret a Manger.

A home here is ideal for families, with a number of Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ schools nearby, including Perry Hall Primary School, St Olave’s and St Saviour’s Grammar School, and Newstead Wood School.

For those looking to enjoy the outdoors, there are a number of country parks in and around Orpington, including High Elms Country Park, with trails and a golf course, Priory Gardens, and Goddington Park.

Homes available in the second phase at Lockesley Chase range from three-bedroom semi-detached houses starting from £540,000 to the four-bedroom detached property at £630,000.
