Yelland Councillor Opens Local New Homes Development
Posted 10 October 2023 by
Keith OsborneCouncillor Neil Denton joined West Country housebuilder Devonshire Homes to celebrate the official opening of its latest north Devon site, Sun Houses.
As the councillor for Fremington and Yelland, Denton cut the ceremonial ribbon at Devonshire Homes’ Yelland development off Allenstyle Road. Local businesses, councillors, key stakeholders, and partners were all in attendance at the special reception where guests had the first opportunity to look around the brand new show home.
The launch event gave attendees an opportunity see the new property first-hand in addition to finding out more about the range of homes coming to Yelland, as well as schemes which can help local house-hunters step on or move up the property ladder, such as Deposit Unlock.
Ultimately, Sun Houses will deliver 27 open-market and 22 affordable homes. Homebuyers can choose from three-, four- and five-bedroom bungalows and houses in an elevated position, making the most of their southerly aspect with estuary views and are surrounded by green, wooded hillside.
Councillor Neil Denton, Fremington and Yelland Ward, commented: “I was delighted to cut the ribbon at Devonshire Homes’ site in Yelland to mark the opening of Sun Houses. The original residential site had been left unfinished by another developer so it’s fantastic to see works now well underway with Devonshire Homes, which will complete this beautiful new community.
“It was good to find out more about the range of homes available to local house-hunters. I am especially pleased about the affordable homes which Devonshire Homes are bringing forward as part of this development, which will particularly benefit local people.”
The ‘Yelland’ home type at Sun Houses
Sales executive Julie Brooker is now based on site to assist homebuyers, helping them find their next home whilst providing more information on the schemes and incentives available. Those interested in homes at Sun Houses can look around the four-bedroom ‘Appledore’ show home.
Jane Pearce, sales and marketing director at Devonshire Homes, commented: “We were thrilled to welcome Councillor Denton, as well as familiar faces from the area and our industry, to the launch event at Sun Houses. The event was the perfect chance for us to showcase the site and give our guests a first look inside the show home, particularly as this is a new architectural style for Devonshire Homes.
“Yelland is a beautiful village and offers that perfect blend of country living whilst only being five miles away from the bustling town of Barnstaple with all of its amenities. Our marketing suite is open daily, so I’d encourage those interested in living in a high-quality new home, in this fantastic location, to act now.”
Sun Houses offers easy access to the A39 and A361 and is within a short distance of popular beaches Westward Ho! and Saunton Sands. Barnstaple is only five miles away and boasts plenty of amenities including several superstores, leisure centre, gyms, restaurants, and pubs. For families, there is schooling for all ages with the closest being Fremington Community Primary and Nursery School and The Park Community School and Bideford College secondary school options.
Sun Houses marketing suite, off Walter Way, Yelland, EX31 3GN, is open daily, 10.00am to 5.00pm. Find out more at www.devonshirehomes.co.uk.
