Posted 29 November 2023 by Keith Osborne

Dandara hosts an event for first-time buyers wanting to see first-hand its Pinkhill Gate development in western Edinburgh...

Ahead of a special first-time buyer event taking place this weekend, Dandara has unwrapped three new view homes at Pinkhill Gate, its development near Edinburgh Zoo.

The housebuilder has opened the doors to the one-bedroom ‘Portree’ and the two-bedroom ‘Arinagour’ and ‘Bowmore’ apartments at the site, a short walk from Murrayfield Stadium.

Tony Williamson, sales director for Dandara East Scotland, said: “We are so excited to launch our new view homes which really showcase the lifestyle on offer at in this beautiful development just a few miles from Edinburgh city centre. The capital is always especially magical at this time of year with its brightly decorated shops and restaurants, Christmas market stalls, giant Ferris wheel and outdoor ice rink.

“Each of the view homes has been carefully designed to give prospective buyers a sense of what these properties are like to live in, it can be a bit challenging trying to imagine how your furniture will look and where you will hang pictures when buying off-plan.”

Those looking to take the first step on the property ladder can visit the new apartments at a special first-time buyer event being held on Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 December from 12.00pm to 4.00pm. There they can tour the properties, meet the sales team and find out how Dandara can help get them moving.

To celebrate the launch of the new view apartments, Dandara is offering a range of incentives for all buyers who reserve before Christmas. These include 5% deposit paid or mortgage contribution incentives, flooring and furniture packages, tailored to meet the buyer’s specific needs.

Buyers who fall in love with view homes can now reserve the house types showcased. Currently available is a ‘Portree’ apartment (Plot 9) which comes with 5% deposit paid saving almost £12,200, at a price of £243,995. This one-bedroom home features an impressive open-plan lounge-dining-kitchen with feature window, a bathroom and spacious bedroom with fitted wardrobe. The ‘Arinagour’, a two-bedroom apartment with generous open-plan living space, contemporary kitchen and modern bathroom, comes with furniture pack and flooring. It costs £284,995.

Also available is a Bowmore, which is ready to move into for Christmas and comes with 5% deposit paid saving almost £16,250 and flooring available. Priced at £324,995, the apartment features a dual-aspect, open-plan lounge/dining/kitchen, modern bathroom and two double bedrooms. Bedroom one boasts a fitted wardrobe and a private en suite.

Tony Williamson added: “What could be nicer than waking up in a lovely new home, a short distance from the centre of one of Europe’s finest cities. We have a number of international buyers who have fallen in love with Edinburgh, these homes are so handy for those working in the city.”

Apartments include a contemporary kitchen with oven, hob, integrated cooker hood, fridge freezer and integrated washer-dryer. Some of the larger apartments also include a dishwasher. Internally, the apartment interiors boast modern layouts and finishes, with an EPC rating of B. There is also a secure internal cycle store for those who enjoy a commute on bike.

Pinkhill Gate is just a short walk from the zoo, which is home to more than 2,500 animals from around the world. Murrayfield Stadium, the centre for the Scottish rugby union, is just over a mile away offering world class rugby matches including the Guinness Six Nations, along with concerts from some of the globe’s top artists and bands.

The development is nestled between some of west Edinburgh’s fine green spaces such as Saughton Rose Garden and Corstorphine Hill, and is a short walk from the picturesque Water of Leith walkway. The apartments are also close to some high-ranking schools and educational establishments like The Mary Erskine School and St George’s Nursery School.

Walking around the area, buyers will encounter breathtaking 200-year-old Georgian houses, some of the finest in Edinburgh, and an establishment like Dine Murrayfield, on the banks of the Water of Leith, is just one of many go to locations which make up the vibrant and exciting amenities of the local area.
