95% of the homes at Crest Nicholson’s St John’s Mead, with only ‘The Evesham’ house type qualifying for Help to Buy...

With the government-backed Help to Buy: Equity Loan scheme ending in March 2023, buyers looking to secure a new build home will need to act fast and make their house reservation by 31 October this year, and WhatHouse? Award winning housebuilder Crest Nicholson, has only one final property available on the scheme at its sought-after St John’s Mead development, situated in the idyllic village of Elmswell in Suffolk.

With just three homes left in total, with one of which being Help to Buy-eligible, this truly is the last chance for prospective homeowners to join this thriving community. The three bedroom ‘The Evesham’ house type offers flexible living, with an open-plan kitchen-dining area and a separate light and airy living room, providing plenty of space for families to relax, unwind, and entertain. Upstairs, the home boast three spacious bedrooms and a family bathroom, with the main bedroom benefitting from its own en suite. The house is perfectly suited to contemporary buyers thanks to its high-quality kitchen, sanitaryware and fixtures and fittings throughout.

St John’s MeadWith the Help to Buy: Equity Loan scheme, homebuyers contribute just a 5% deposit and secure a conventional mortgage for just 75% of the home’s purchase price. The remaining 20% is provided by the government as an equity loan. Requiring a low deposit and paying no interest on the equity loan for the first five years helps first-time buyers (subject to eligibility, terms and conditions) to get onto the property ladder and own a brand new home.

Karen Coulson, sales and marketing director for Crest Nicholson Eastern, commented: “The end of September deadline to reserve a home with the Help to Buy scheme is fast approaching. This means time is running out for first time buyers to secure their dream home at our St John’s Mead development, with just a 5% deposit. The scheme offers the chance to join a bustling community of young and growing families at the development and we urge all who are interested to get in touch as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.”

St John’s MeadSet amidst tree lined roads, the homes at St John’s Mead are traditional in style, built to complement the semi-rural village setting. The development is surrounded by greenery, creating a perfect retreat from the nearby hustle and bustle. However, St John’s Mead is also conveniently located near the historic market town of Bury St Edmunds and Stowmarket for all of homeowners’ needs, and has a number of convenient amenities right on its doorstep in Elmswell itself, including shops, pubs and sporting grounds.

Ideal for commuters, Elmswell railway station is also under a 15-minute walk from the development, offering direct trains to Bury St Edmunds in just 12 minutes, Ipswich in 24 minutes and Cambridge in under an hour. Residents will also be well connected by road, with the A14 just a short drive from the development and linking to surrounding towns.

Prices at St John’s Mead start from £325,000 for a three-bedroom home and £450,000 for a four bedroom house. The sales suite is open between 10.00am and 5.00pm, Thursday to Monday. Find out more at www.crestnicholson.com.
