Limited Availability With Help To Buy At Growing Kent Scheme

Posted 22 June 2022 by Keith Osborne

Crest Nicholson has only 11 homes eligible for the Help to Buy: Equity Loan still for sale at Sevington Lakes in Ashford...

With the government’s recent announcement about the deadline for reserving a brand new home with its popular Help to Buy: Equity Loan initiative, Crest Nicholson has only 11 eligible homes remaining at Sevington Lakes, the newest phase of its Finberry development in Ashford, Kent.

These properties have been designed with family in mind and are ideally suited to modern-day lifestyles. There is a selection of three house types remaining that are available through Help to Buy, including the four-bedroom ‘Filey’, set across three storeys. On the ground floor is a kitchen-dining area, with a separate living room featuring French doors that provide residents with direct access to their garden. The first floor contains two double bedrooms, one single bedroom and a well-proportioned family bathroom, whilst the top floor consists of the main bedroom and en suite.

The ’Chesham’ is a spacious home with an open plan kitchen-dining area, stretching the width of the house and containing double doors leading out onto the garden. On the ground floor there is also a living room, with a large bay window, flooding the room with natural light. On the first floor are three double bedrooms, with an en suite and a fitted wardrobe in the main bedroom, plus a storage cupboard on the landing.

With the Help to Buy scheme, qualifying first-time homebuyers are able to use just a 5% deposit and secure a conventional mortgage for just 75% of the home’s purchase price. The remaining 20% is provided by the government as an equity loan. Requiring a low deposit and paying no interest on the equity loan for the first five years helps first time buyers to get onto the property ladder and have all the benefits of 100% ownership of a brand new home.

Karen Coulson, sales and marketing director for Crest Nicholson Eastern, commented: “The end of September deadline to reserve a home with the Help to Buy scheme is fast approaching. This means time is running out for first-time buyers to secure their dream home at our Sevington Lakes development, with just a 5% deposit. The scheme offers the chance for growing families and first-time buyers to join a bustling community at the new village development, set within the heart of the Kent countryside yet ideally located for all that Ashford has to offer – including excellent transport links from Ashford International, plus the McArthurGlen Ashford Designer Outlet. With just eleven Help to Buy-eligible homes remaining, we encourage all those interested to get in touch as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.”

With a countryside setting, residents in the village of Finberry benefit from both urban and rural living, with the town of Ashford only a nine-minute drive away, home to the popular McArthurGlen Ashford Designer Outlet, and the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty less than 20 minutes away on the road. Sevington Lakes is particularly suited for families, with access to a primary school and playparks at the Finberry development, within walking distance of Sevington Lakes.

Sevington Lakes additionally benefits from a range of excellent transport links, making it a great choice for commuters. Just a short drive away from Ashford International station, residents can reach London St Pancras in 38 minutes and by car, Finberry has easy access to the M20 at Junction 10 – providing links to both London and the south coast.

Three-, four- and five-bedroom homes are available at Sevington Lakes, with prices starting from £375,000, £400,000 and £610,000 respectively. The sales suite is open from 10.00am to 5.00pm daily. Find out more at www.crestnicholson.com.
